I stopped taking spanish so I could learn computer programming for a future job.

My husband's a computer programmer -- a few years ago, his bank outsourced a bunch of jobs to India, then brought in a bunch of Indians to learn his job, then laid him off so they could hire Indians at lower salaries, then he couldn't get hired unless he took a 2/3's pay cut.

AckkK!!!! I am just envisioning the next four years, thinking about FDR with his fireside chats and generation-damning policies... that is what I'm thinking President Obama will mean. The whole it doesn't matter what you do because you make everybody feel good way of governing is So horrid, and the worst part about it is that he will be able to carry out his agenda because people love him.

I think i would so rather see Hillary become president (barring a miracle that I've donated towards ) - not because I like her, but because it would be disasterous if completely likable Obama got in office and got many of his legislative wishes. At least with Hillary, there'd be plenty of contention and less would get done.
