Sorry JMDRAKE
And yet, curiously you don't support Ron Paul's position on Cuba and you're calling someone who does support Ron's position an "idiot." Anyway, I'm still waiting for you to explain why communist Cuba is worse than communist China.

It is idiots like you that will bring this whole liberty movement down. I am a Long term supporter of the Paul’s.

JMdrake, First of all lets please go back to the original post subject here. The issue is Cuba and is not China. Secondly this is a Rand Paul section and really has nothing do with RON Paul.
I have been a Ron Paul supporter for years and Love the man and while I do not agree with Ron or Rand on the Cuba policy lets please limit this thread to CUBA and not China which I have no personal experience in and also limit it to Rand Paul. Secondly my post is because I support Rand and am simply pointing out based on my personal experience with Cuba that I think Rand has jumped the gun on this issue and that he really has no true experience in the Cuba situation on the ground in Cuba.
I simply point out that I think Rand has hurt himself in my opinion. Ok my opinion only in terms of his reaction to Rubio and simply do not believe Rand has any experience to understand what an opening with Cuba would do to help reinforce the repression of the Castro brothers.
If you have any FIRST HAND experience in Cuba that disputes my opinion I would love to talk about it here so the Rand Paul supporters can get a bit of both sides of the story. If you want to do some China Cuba comparison well that is beyond the scope of this original thread.
I simply think that in one year when the debates start nothing will have changed in Cuba in terms of Cuba and that at that time when the rest of the GOP candidates in a debate bring this up that Rand is going to be hard pressed to defend his actions and opinions of the last few days.
And Cuban cigars because of limited availability in my opinion will be much more expensive if the country is opened up to gringo tourists rather than lowered in price due to your ability to then bring them back to the USA.
This is a very difficult issue. There are two sides to look at here. I am simply going on my experience in being in Cuba with locals for many visits.
Sorry about mentioning idiots. It is what I thought but realize that is not the nice way to deal with this which should be a friendly argument which ends up supporting Rand.
