Washington Times: Rand Paul knocks out Marco Rubio like Ali over Foreman

Yes, well...

As to the topic at hand, I'm no boxing expert but I would say Ron has a style like Foreman and Randal has a style like Ali.

I'd go with Ron as a Foreman/slugger. Randal, however, I think is more a Sugar Ray/boxer-puncher, as opposed to an Ali/out-boxer.

Fair enough. Of course, Sugar Ray's early trainer was the same as Ali's. Interesting enough:

Lord have mercy, kids these days!?!

What bunch of B.S. Once we have freedom and liberty here in the U.S. You and Rubio can fight for freedom in Cuba. Hell, if you care about the Cubans freedom and liberty so much, pack up your shit, buy a guy, rent a boat and go fight for revolution. Until then, stfu. I want me some cuban cigars at a reasonable price. Cry me a fking river as if you really cared about Cuban Freedom and Liberty. You just like to wag your finger and say no.

As a Cuban-American who lives in Miami, thank you and I agree 100 percent with your statement. The truth hurts but us Cubans need to face reality when it comes to our former homeland.

"If there is a conflict between Mr. Rubio’s sympathies for the Cuban people and the best interests of the United States, he is required to abandon the former in favor of the latter."

This is why people such as Rubio are ineligible to be President according to the Constitution. He is not a Natural Born Citizen. His Natural allegiance is not to the United States (alone).

It is idiots like you that will bring this whole liberty movement down. I am a long term supporter of the Paul’s.

And yet, curiously you don't support Ron Paul's position on Cuba and you're calling someone who does support Ron's position an "idiot." Anyway, I'm still waiting for you to explain why communist Cuba is worse than communist China.

Sorry JMDRAKE

JMdrake, First of all lets please go back to the original post subject here. The issue is Cuba and is not China. Secondly this is a Rand Paul section and really has nothing do with RON Paul.
I have been a Ron Paul supporter for years and Love the man and while I do not agree with Ron or Rand on the Cuba policy lets please limit this thread to CUBA and not China which I have no personal experience in and also limit it to Rand Paul. Secondly my post is because I support Rand and am simply pointing out based on my personal experience with Cuba that I think Rand has jumped the gun on this issue and that he really has no true experience in the Cuba situation on the ground in Cuba.

I simply point out that I think Rand has hurt himself in my opinion. Ok my opinion only in terms of his reaction to Rubio and simply do not believe Rand has any experience to understand what an opening with Cuba would do to help reinforce the repression of the Castro brothers.

If you have any FIRST HAND experience in Cuba that disputes my opinion I would love to talk about it here so the Rand Paul supporters can get a bit of both sides of the story. If you want to do some China Cuba comparison well that is beyond the scope of this original thread.

I simply think that in one year when the debates start nothing will have changed in Cuba in terms of Cuba and that at that time when the rest of the GOP candidates in a debate bring this up that Rand is going to be hard pressed to defend his actions and opinions of the last few days.

And Cuban cigars because of limited availability in my opinion will be much more expensive if the country is opened up to gringo tourists rather than lowered in price due to your ability to then bring them back to the USA.
This is a very difficult issue. There are two sides to look at here. I am simply going on my experience in being in Cuba with locals for many visits.
Sorry about mentioning idiots. It is what I thought but realize that is not the nice way to deal with this which should be a friendly argument which ends up supporting Rand.

Why would Rand Paul be pressed to explain himself for supporting something that has such populist support?

An embargo does not, and never will hurt the leadership of a country-it only hurts the average citizen. Castro has been able to use Western policy toward Cuba as a propaganda tactic for decades. I on't see any reason to maintain a useless policy that has no good argument for it, either in principle or utility.

Wow! Best passage IMO.

Mr. Rubio betrays his greater loyalty to the people of Cuba than to the people of the United States by his declination to sponsor legislation that would terminate normalized trade with Communist China to punish its Communist dictatorship and suppression of human rights and to benefit Chinese champions of democracy. In his calculus, the Chinese quest for democracy must bow to the economic and other interests of the United States, but Cuban hopes for democracy should take precedence over the interests of the American people.

I'd love to see Rand and Rubio go head to head on this in the debates. Come on Marco. Why trade with communist China but embargo communist Cuba?

So why trade with China and not Cuba? Read the following article in the Wall street Journal.

You sir are not telling the truth. You specifically said So why trade with China and not Cuba? Read the following article in the Wall street Journal. In order to back up that claim that you made you need to provide evidence that somehow trading with China is okay but trading with Cuba is not. You haven't done that. So again....

If Marco Rubio had voted to end most favored nation trading status with China then he would have moral justification to talk about Cuba. But he didn't. So he doesn't. Neither do you.

Marco Rubio is an idiot. I can't believe anyone buys into that guy. He's not quite as obnoxious as Ted Cruz but it is close.

If you wanna boycott Cuba, gather like minded people and do it yourself. Don't drag me into your isolationist world view. We don't do isolationism on RPF.

Merry Christmas to you all. Enjoying my holiday with family and friends in the big apple.
