Thanks for posting here, yadranko! There's another guy on twitter I follow who's Russian and I've thought about asking him to post on here.

I don't think people in the US, even most people on this board see the significance of what is happening with this Ukraine situation.

This isn't some civil war that the US is trying to be an opportunist in. They engineered the coup. We are experienced at that.

The "civil war" is happening in the EU.

The US has started a war in Europe. There is no denying that. Even Obama doesn't deny it. On the surface it's about resources but it's only relevant because they are "Russia's" resources in the sense that their economy is tied to Ukraine. In this long mess of burning people, and mobile soldier furnaces, and shooting down passenger planes (which seems to have been forgotten), Europe is getting freaked out. Merkel is seriously worried as are a few others. But there's a split and the EU seems to be leaning towards blocking the US (diplomatically) from supplying weapons to Ukraine.

The nuance that makes this "different" is that there is a concerted "push back" from the EU to Washington's plans. This is different than the normal "not going along with sanctions" approach. The EU (some of them anyway, Merkel foremost) is legitimately worried. I can only guess that Putin has made some sort of ultimatum, similar to the case of Georgia and it's American puppet Saakashvili in the 2008 South Ossetia war. Meaning, Putin has a breaking point where he will deal with the situation militarily.

Seriuosly what are Putin's options? If the US unilaterally supplies weapons when the EU will not how else could he respond? Those are ethnic Russians living there. They used to be a part of Russia. Those civilians are being shelled daily. They are MAD at Putin for not doing anything. But Putin is making every effort he can diplomatically and EVERYONE agrees this is the last effort. If the peace plan fails the US will likely supply weapons assuming Russia doesn't just end the war itself in the few days it would take them to overrun Kiev's army.

This is the first time I have ever seen some European countries so opposed to such a policy. The US is barking up the wrong tree here (there is a bear in it) and even Europe is going, "wait, wait, wait, this is crazy..."

We will know by the end of this week (important meeting in Minsk[?] on Wednesday and Germany today - still waiting on Obama's definitive response) whether the USA is going to eat some crow, like they should, or whether the world takes the biggest leap towards WW3 since the appearance of ISIS.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I completely agree with you. One thing that I find so unbelievable is how many libertarians are actually supporting the CIA coup in Ukraine, and how many of them are bashing the fellow non-interventionist libertarians, calling them names like "confused pro-Putin libertarians" in their lack of counter arguments.

I have personally experienced some harsh verbal treatment and abuse by other libertarians for my efforts at translating these kinds of videos and spreading them on social media. The people in videos are dismissed as Putin's agents and I am proclaimed as a terrorist supporter. Very disappointing to say the least.

In my honest view, this is the moment when all anti-war libertarians need to stand up and support the very people that best exemplify what being anti-war is all about. Ordinary people refusing to go to war and fight for criminals in power - what more touching, more admirable, and more noble action does exist out there to stand for and support?

On the side note, I am concerned with Dr Paul's appearing at the Students for Liberty International conference that is coming up. If I were him and Andrew Napolitano, I wouldn't go. Or at least not without an army of strong antiwar libertarians in audience. Students for Liberty is a CIA-funded organization whose members have been making great efforts at shutting down all libertarians who dare to point out the hypocrisy of the US Government. Anyone who is well versed in social media can easily notice what's going on. Liberty movement is being divided and hijacked.
