If there is evidence that it has if fact happened and other places use same program and software, I would think a recount of all votes in that jurisdiction would be justified with a proven machine and under scrutiny.

How, I wonder did the software get hacked or accessed? Isn't it encrypted, and if so, then one would need a code to go in and change the program parameters. Right? And if the encryption is high security then the access code would have been either retained by the manufacturer for updates etc. or provided to the purchaser. and wouldn't there be a log of accessors?
