WTF ever.

July 4th is obvious to me. INDEPENDENCE DAY. FAMILY HOLIDAY WEEKEND. FIREWORKS IN DC.

Its a fucking no brainer.

21 June!

July 4 is a bad idea. There are just too many competing events on that day, everywhere. Our March will not get much if any press. Please, not July 4!!!

Here here! Not too late, not too soon, and it's a weekend. It's not going to be too hectic w/ tourists. I was in DC on a smaller holiday and even THAT was chaos, so I'd definitely say NO to the 4th.

Oh I clicked the wrong one.

I really don't care when it is as long as I have enough time in advance to get off work and get a BIG ASS group together to go.

DC is only 6-ish hours from Columbus. I can drive this with no problem and would have no excuse not to go.

This is soooooo exciting!!

July 4th!? WTF! Its a no-brainer wrong idea....June 21st makes sense and that my Friend is a no-brainer....

somone make sure that the campaign gets these poll results. I think 4th of July would not be a good idea as a lot of people spend it with their families. THe constitution day seems perfect though.

This is nice to see the preferences of the Ron Paul Forum, but if Ron Paul shows up on the Forth of July and everyone selects June 21... what's the point.

Also Ron Paul has major support on college campuses, so the date chosen must be take this into consideration. We have to make sure college students will attend!

As for me, warm weather would great! But that's not the point of this Washington D.C. rally... saving America is.

Sorry not voting.

For Memorial Day and 4th of July weekends you list the actual holiday day which in the case of Memorial Day falls on Monday and in the case of the 4th of July it falls on a Friday.

In both cases the middle day of the holiday weekend should be the day for the event giving a travel day on either side.

If I was voting I would go for Sunday the 25th of May.

This is our day IMHO!

Saturday June 21 "Constitution Revolution Day" - The day our constitution was ratified.

June 21st, the day the United States Constitution became supreme law of the land.

If your voting against July 4th because it won't get press you have not been following the entire campaign. The media picks and chooses what to display and they barely talked about the biggest fundraising day in history. This was a footnote so if you expect the Media to cover the March you will be saddly mistaken no matter what day it occurs.

The entire point of this march should be about the American spirit of freedom. This is what unites us and this is what will bring people back to true American principles. There are a few days throughout the year that represent this meaning and this is why Ron Paul chose Memorial Day or July 4th... they stir deep emotion that is in us all.

I understand many concerns about these days being overshadowed but that is not justified, we have the power to garner those other events into ours. It would be to our benefit to have other events and other people out... it is the point to convince others about Ron Paul. If we can make it known over the next few months that one of these days belongs to our March anything else going on that day will be viewed as part of our March if we successfully show our support on that day. From the past it appears to me we have great talent in overtaking events...

I would strongly urge everyone here who is voting on days to consider why we need to choose the proper day... You have to bring emotion, you have to stir meaning to get those non hard core supporters to come out and you need to hit their heart to do that. June 21st does not do this. Memorial day and July 4th do, they represent what we defend, Freedom.

If the official campaign people, after researching, believe 4th is best...I ill go with that. A fourth of July rally in Washington DC would be awesome. I voted 21

The question of course, is "what's the goal." If we want to affect any remaining primaries, sooner is better than later. April 19th sounds good to me.

June 7 because we're again going to declare our independence from Britain... The Bank of England.

The only problem I see with June 21 is it's the "FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!!!" and that will get lots of pointless coverage.

Maybe someone should contact the official campaign with some of the concerns that have been expressed about marching on a national holiday, and see what they say.

You only put memorial day itself on there (a monday)...

It wouldn't be Memorial Day itself, I would hope. He (Paul) when musing about it even said Memorial Day WEEKEND, not Holiday. Sunday might be perfect because it's in the middle of a three day weekend, 90% of college students will be out by then, it will be warm, but not too hot, it's not an actual holiday.

And, it is the day the Constitutional Convention convened:

May 25, 1787 - In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, delegates convene a Constitutional Convention to write a new Constitution for the United States. George Washington presides.

I love skeet's idea for the June 21, 1788 U.S. Constitution goes into effect as New Hampshire is 9th to ratify.

Ratification of the Constitution.

A Constitution March on Sat., Jun 21, 2008!

For an earlier one if that one is too late:

The day the Constitutional Convention Convened!:

A possible suggestion:
May 25 (a Sunday--the day before Memorial Day Holiday):
1787 - In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, delegates convene a Constitutional Convention to write a new Constitution for the United States. George Washington presides.

It's more than 90 days away. It's in the middle of a three day weekend, but not on a holiday. It's about the Constitution--about taking the first step in creating it. It's after the kids are out of college.

QFT about the middle of the 3 day weekend.

Don't do this on the 4th of July, or any other day where we may not garner the most attention possible
