Yeah, holding onto cash is a strategy too. Some may be holding on until they see the right opportunity appear (like I saw this morning w/ TTWO). So far, holding cash has outperformed the other strategies on average, so it's not fair to kick out some of the best performers in the game, just because they haven't yet waded into this chaotic market.

Are you worried about some dark horses overtaking you at the last second, Kludge? Surely your strategies can overcome the formidable opponent that is the cash hoarder. ;)

There's a 15-30 minute delay since the game runs on delayed quotes and marketwatch uses real-time quotes.

GM jumped (apparently in response to news of sales increase in china). I wasn't watching when it happened or i could have pulled the short i have on them :(
It looks like i will have a chore on my hands to get back to the lead ;)
 
We already know we all started with 100,000. We dont need anyone to literally hold onto it the whole game to know that it would remain at 100,000.

And it sort of misses the whole point of the game.

That, and you will be way behind me when I overtake Warren Buffet in a couple of weeks.

Something screwy is going on with my activision stock, the game is telling me it is worth $0.0 and that I lost everything i put into it. :confused:
 
When I first purchased it the symbol was ATVI now it is ATVID. It might have something to do with the recently approved merger.
 
Damn, I tried to set a sell limit for less than a penny, and the system rounded it down to zero. So it just immediately sold off the stock.

Apparently I should be 200% short like you. Not sure why I'm net long right now...TTWO surely would have continued its bounce if the market hadn't suddenly turned to crap.... EA's still more than willing to buy TTWO @ 25.74 if they get the chance, and the longer it stays below that number the more likely shareholders are to tender for 25.74 or slightly higher.

I'm almost certain the bounce will happen, but it's apparently been delayed a bit. And I should have shorted more SMG.....damn, I'm not by a computer enough nowadays to take advantage of this insane market.

Anyway, good show Kludge. Tomorrow's another day...and I have a feeling the shorts will have that day as well.
 
Ha, I just noticed a few people have taken up my strategy after seeing me jump 30% in a single day. We all took some heavy losses today, but Im not really worried. I expect I will have big returns in the next few days.
 
crap! I shorted Freddie Mac, and I went to short some more stocks, but I accidentally forgot to select "sell to short" so I ended up buying 1000 shares of Freddie Mac <_<

actually, it might bounce up a few percent based on talk so might have an escape. sell it then.
 
Heh, i was looking at Fox's portfolio, and saw that he had Freddie shorted AND long at the same time. SHould do no real harm, just clear em all at the same time.
 
Damn.... I bet we're going to be in the green after today is over... Idunno what to short first
 
god damn, Freddie Mac is already down 45% today.

When is the bailout coming? Next week?
