EAST PALESTINE, OH — Residents of a small Ohio town have been forced to evacuate after a deadly spill of vinyl chloride and butyl acrylate chemicals from a train derailment caught fire and destroyed surrounding farmland, waterways, and livestock. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was quick to respond, promising to investigate the tragedy for signs of racism.

"First of all, I want to reassure the citizens of East Palestine that I am still very gay," said the Transportation Secretary. "Also, I will do everything in my power to uncover the possible racist source of this deadly environmental disaster. Yes, East Palestine is a small Ohio Town full of white people, but we need to know how this may affect BIPOCS. I will leave no stone unturned."

Buttigieg has also not ruled out the possibility of foreign governments behind the incident. "Considering this happened in East Palestine, we shouldn't rule out a possible war crime perpetrated by the state of Israel," he said.

At publishing time, sources had confirmed Bill Gates had purchased all the land around East Palestine for a great price.

[...] as the pool of competent men, yes, mostly white, dwindles [...]

Competent? Competent? Who the hell cares about competence?

Expectations of competence are racist manifestations of white supremacy. Do better, comrade!

(And if the buildings, etc. constructed by others for your benefit end up being shoddy death traps, well ... isn't that a price worth paying as long as the people in hardhats were "equity" hires who look like the people in your community?)

To re-state - this guy has never been on a construction site in his life. The one place a person can reliably find a representative cross-section of the people who live in a community is precisely on a construction site. There's probably no place where work is being done that better represents the demographics of any given city or region than a construction site, in my experience... and now, more than ever because none of this upcoming, piss ant generation even wants to work, so those who have to almost exclusively represent the poorest of the community, who tend to be minorities.

Pete is literally just saying words.

On a somewhat related note:

We're briefly away from the plot of Atlas Shrugged, and it's going to kill us. I'm sure glad I don't mind driving, because I'm not going to allow diversity hires to fly my @ss into a mountain. I feel bad for the next generation who're going to have to drive over diversity-hired engineers' designed bridges.

The rulers want plastics and money as a determinator of economy, and fast shipments, low regulation...

More than safety or biological life.

Then when things like this happen they act shocked.

The planet is dying. We're killing it. If you don't know that by now, you're an idiot.

Just curious, but how would you regulate it?

I'm waiting to see what the crash scene investigators find out.

I must be an idiot, then. From my vantage point, the planet is thriving. You may need to get out of a city.

I would dislike living in that city where this spill had happened and i wouldn't trust any political offices currently especially when they claim that its safe.

Most potlicans dont live where normal people live.

I have to play Devil's Advocate here for just a minute:

I don't know who authorized the evacuation plans, but the ERG states that a mile is sufficient for vinyl chloride.

Meaning, they went "by the book".

Secondly, the fire teams were between a rock and a hard place.

Their infrared scans were showing the very real risk of a BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion) which would have been...well...Apocalyptic...given the location and proximity of homes.

Hundreds, perhaps thousands of people would have died had that happened.

I would limit plastics and regulate their use in commercial products, among many other things.

btw I used to work in plastic factories. Plastic is horrid stuff.
