Video update: Ron Paul Rally at Minneapolis Convention Center 2/06/12

This is the depressing part. Why can't he sit down for another hour and take questions? He could have his team of foreign policy experts get into the details of Syria and Iran. You got all those people there and CSPAN.

A foreign policy Q&A with Ron + Schuere + AdvisorX in a town hall setting answering questions from voters WOULD DEFINITELY GENERATE SUBSTANTIAL PRESS/COVERAGE.

Eh... waste of effort... better to just keep giving the same old stump speech .. even if half the people in the room have already heard it before.

/sigh

I did not get to watch this yet, but I wanted to say something about the crticism Ron gets here about his public speaking. He's not the most eloquent speaker, but that doesn't make him an ineffective one. Most of us here first started supporting him after hearing him speak, so he can't be too bad. I first heard him give a speech back around 2003, and my first thought afterwards was, "this man should be president".

We can be overly critical sometimes because we want the message to be perfect and we aren't just listening but grading and superimposing what we want said. If you could step back and listen like someone new to the process I think you would find that while his speeches aren't pretty like Romney's, they are refreshingly candid and more effective than you think.

Yeah but then Americans would be presented with point by point refutations of the non-stop lies they're fed by the arms merchant controlled media.

They keep asking him why he's doing this. He could answer that his fall back plan isn't to give his stump speech to the convention. He could say he's trying to avoid a nuclear holocaust by getting all of the facts and details out there. After a speech like this with all these people and focus he could turn the floor over to Scott Horton, Scheuer, Eric Margolis, there's a ton of experts who agree with Ron that could help restrain bloodthirsty Boobus and maybe even inspire independents and democrats to come out and vote. They're throwing these golden opportunities down the drain. Is it really Jesse Benton who choreographs these shows and doesn't want to save the world from WW III? I think its the guy who conducts the round up for the pictures (just kidding).

How much sense would a townhall Q&A session make at a RALLY?

Like you said, the people there are already supporters.

We've got plenty of supporters. Thank goodness too because some of us are already maxed out. Now all we need are more voters! In each state! GOTV!!!

We're going to get more voters once they find out that they can come out from under their beds because the Persians aren't going to nuke them.

And I can't think of a better venue to get the truth out than after one of these rallys which they keep misrepresenting as "town hall meetings".

Come on man. Open your mind up.

Amen Wolfgang.

When is someone in the campaign going to say "Enough with this off-the-cuff stuff"! Seriously, what the f@ck is the deal?? I find it impossible to believe that Ron simply too tired to put together formal addresses/responses to the most pressing issues of the day/week/year/future/etc.

Dr Paul has how 4+ books and hundreds of congressional speeches to draw from...why not take advantage of the coverage his campaign is still receiving and deliver a few speeches that at least can be read/referred to at some later point in time...?

Just got home from attending!

So much fun to see Ron Paul live for the first time! There was tons of excitement and energy in the crowd.

Brought my girlfriend... she didn't want to go at first but went anyway.

She thinks Ron is really cute, and makes sense.

We're both going to caucus tomorrow, pumped!

BTW: quick question about registration..

Obviously when attending you need a photo ID, but what if you've moved since your last card?

My girlfriend thinks she is registered to vote previously in another county, and her license is from that former address
what do you need to prove current location?

Bring a bill, student ID, or something along those lines that is addressed to your current location. You can register and the event, just get their early.

get there early and reregister. I don't know Minn but often they say two bills one a utility bill, or something. Go online and check though. In Illinois I'd have gone to a currency exchange and updated my address, but I don't know if you can do that there.
