Video update - Ron Paul on Fox News w/ Megyn Kelly 1/13/12

Close the Straight of Hormuz was state by a General in the Revolutionary Guard. Not the official government statement and it was retracted. The general was a little pissed because his buddy General was assassinated 6 months ago.

Western Corporate Media is distorting the truth and as usual blowing it completely out of proportion.
Here is the solution to the Straight of Hormuz problem:
Debate preparation: Strait of Hormuz: IRAN, OMAN, and the right to transit

Dismissing it is the proper answer. Besides, in dismissing it, he said that Iran would be wiped out in 40 minutes if they did something. Should he say that he'd not only blow up the entire country, but drop a nuke on Brazil, too? To show that he's tough?

Not the point I'm trying to make at all. I'm not saying that he should become Frothy and strut into the interview and promise to stick a nuke up every brown persons ass.

I'm just suggesting that he respond to the bullshit first as posed THEN dismiss it with the facts that he laid out. That is all.

You can count on them to try and sabotage him regardless. And since Ron doesn't seem to give rehearsed answers, it's basically a crapshoot whether he hits it out of the park or not.

Yeah he needs a strong national defense answer. I just thought of something that Ron might be able to work into an answer: "JFK didn't know the Cuban Missile Crisis would happen. Bill Clinton didn't know the World Trade Center would be bombed during the first year of his presidency. George W. Bush didn't know 9/11 would happen a few months after he took office. But our system, our Constitution, provides us with the mechanism to respond swiftly, decisively, and overwhelmingly, to these attacks. As president the American people will have confidence that I will act to either prevent or respond to any threat to our national security in a manner that minimizes American loss of life and that prevents us from being drawn into decades-long quagmires."

RP needs to be Stern, Clear, and Exact on such threats and reality for the dumbed-down public.

QFT. He need to compromise his principles one iota to couch his argument in a manner that is more palatable to the "America F@$% Yeah" crowd.

What are you guys talking about, that was a great interview! I think Megyn has warmed up to us very well, even though she still has to ask what her handlers want her to ask, she is respectful and doesn't put on the mean-lawyer face that she used to.

Would be nice if he'd answer the hypotheticals a little more directly though, to counter some very effective fearmongering.

For example, if Iran shut down the strait we would challenge it, and if they fired on us then that would be an act of War, and I'd go to the Congress, and we'd take the fleet out in 40 minutes. But they know that, so there is no way in the world that is going to happen!

Precisely. Someone asks a BS question then he responds like this: "If the Norwegians sent a death-star to attack us then I would ask congress to authorise sending Luke Skywalker out to destroy it,. win the war and come home. But frankly thats not going to happen, Norway doesent have the ability to build a death-star..." etc

Great interview. Packed from the very beginning with stunning truth, clearly stated and with an appropriate tone of outrage. Another example of why Dr. Paul is the greatest spokesman for liberty ever.

However, some here will apparently be disappointed anytime he doesn't give an interview that would win over O'Reilly and Medved.

we sit here saying what Ron Paul should've said... when you are up there in a live interview or debate, it is very different and you say things that are less than awesome. most of the time, after the interview/debate... you'd go 'oh! i shouldnt have said it that way' or 'i shouldve made this point'.

but yes. i do believe he should use past answers that seem to work well, like with the panama canal tube. he needs to give that answer out every time iran is brought up.

lol. imo i think he should go "im going to "pew pew" iran".

You got it.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

First you defend the awful way in which Ron answered those questions. Then you supply what surely would have been a much better answer. And if there is no president Ron Paul, you will be able to look at answers like the mess he just supplied and you'll know why it didn't happen. Megyn is a piece of garbage. She's not warming up to Ron . But she gave him questions that most candidates could handle easily, as could most on this board, which she knew he would hem and haw about and somehow drop the ball. And that's just what he did. Instead of a strong speech about defending trade routes and the country, he said we had to feel their pain. I know why he said it, but it was the worst answer he could have given. A two minute interview is not time for a history lesson.

He should say that if Congress thinks there is a threat from Iran they should pass a resolution on what action to take and he would carry it out as Commander-in-chief sense he had consent of the people through their representatives that this was a national security threat and it would be Constitutional.

This is going to come up in Christian Huckabee's forum take 2.

Can't fault Ron for being truthful and matter of fact. He also chooses to emphasize with those who lose their lives. He does not perpetuate the culture of death.

And that's why we like 'em. He's always Ron.

Very well put.

Ya i dont get it just because we are all behind Ron Paul now its ok for him to cater to a different audience for votes? Fuck that and anyone asking him to change his principles. I want Ron to win this election so bad. But not to a point he changes his tune to get votes. He does that , they will hammer him on that and he will surely lose. The man and many others have been giving us warnings for years, and we laughed or ignored them. We are in this shit because its our fault for not paying attention.

Even if there is a 100% chance the USA is innocent in this we deserve to have the fingers pointed at us. Look at our track record of our government assets killing people around the world to force the hand of countries. So this should not come as a suprise for us.

Your letting the MSM draw you back into zombie mode.
