Sunday on ‘This Week’: Samantha Power, Gov. Deval Patrick and Sen. Rand Paul

By ABC News
Apr 11, 2014 11:07am

George Stephanopoulos goes one-on-one with U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, only on “This Week” Sunday.

Plus, we speak with 2016 GOP frontrunner Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., only on “This Week.”

And the powerhouse roundtable debates all the week’s politics, including the resignation of HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, with ABC News political analyst Matthew Dowd, Republican strategist and ABC News contributor Ana Navarro, Democratic strategist James Carville, syndicated radio host and Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham, and University of California, Berkeley professor and former Clinton Labor secretary Robert Reich.

See the whole political picture, Sunday on “This Week.”

this is where he is going to get asked about Cheney I'm pretty sure, haha.

I hope Rand's on after Samantha Powers.

...the average viewer's likely to walk away with whatever opinion he heard last.

Even more likely is George will bring up his comments about the civil rights act with this being the 50th anniversary of the law. Guarantee you Stefanopoulos will bring it up to garner headlines.

And Reich, who was at the U.C. Berkeley event, will continue ad nauseam about how the students there would be horrified with Rand's other social platform.

no Stenafolopolous conducting the the interview, but they do discuss Cheney

How can anyone not want this guy to be President? He's thoughtful, he's principled, and he's an advocate of small government. He deftly handled a lot of really difficult questions there. Good for Randy!!

IMHO, the questions were pointed but fair. And Rand handled them admirably.

Here let me help you out:
The goal is not to win your elections, the goal is to turn a large enough minority against the legitimacy of the State as to make its continued function impossible.
So there’s absolutely no incentive to work with you in promoting candidates, which is the primary function of your political activity.
You’re right when you say “No candidate is good enough” for us, no matter who runs for office we will tear him down because nobody has the right to be our ruler.
Electing somebody like Randal would be a positive improvement and some don't want that. They want the govt to get more and more tyrannical until it all can't help but go bust.

What the hell is with the editing!! Rand needs to make a stink about this. Republicans will eat it up when they find the "media" selectively editing Rand.

Don't think for a minute that they edited it for time - they did it for content.

Wow. This is straight message-crafting. This is not news.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I would imagine that they showed very little of the actual interview. They didn't really give him a chance to give a full explanation of his comments about Cheney.

I like how he's handling it tbh. Maybe not the Dick Cheney incident. If I was him, I would openly say that Cheney has more to answer for. He handled the FP policy questions the best.

I felt similarly. Either I didn't like the editing or the way the interviewer was conducting himself.
