[Video of Police Brutality] Innocent Man Tackled [Now in a coma]

He hit him like a linebacker. It doesn't matter if you plan on hurting someone. If you use violence against someone and it isn't in defense you are wrong.

I find it hard to believe that is an acceptable method of "detaining" a suspect.

He does not even fit the description. 1 of the 3 suspects had a light colored top on, it had SHORT sleeves. This kid had a long sleeved hoody on :(

Nevermind he stopped running. I know that area well. There are bars, there is a movie theater. If a very large man came running at me in an alley way in the dark, I might think about running too. I mean geeze notice he stopped once he got in front of the crowded cinerama. There's been shootings in that area. Nevermind this is the same King County police that brutalized a female aid worker that was on the ground during the WTO. Plus another King County cop that pepper sprayed two women in a car during the WTO.

Yeah, the policeman had probable cause to arrest the guy, but he didn't have the right to body slam his head into a concrete frickin' wall!!! The kid has stopped running. There was no need for the policeman to do what he did. Despicable.

Lets cast aside the fact that this poor guy wasnt a suspect at all. There was no way the police officer could know this.

The alleged suspect stops running, the officer overreacts, and body slams him into a concrete wall?

Police are supposed to be trained to think before reacting. I dont know, I guess maybe the training PO's recieve has gone to complete S--t, because these videos are becoming too commonplace.

Where was the oficer's Taser? Gun? Pepper Spray, night stick, blackjack? Since the guy stopped running why didnt the officer just pull out a weapon of some sort and just say Freeze!? Lie Down On the ground!

Isnt this what they are supposed to be trained to do?

Oh thats right. It's shoot first and ask questions later now.
Guilty until proven innocent.

Unfortunate mishap my ass.
Charge the officer with assault. And if the poor guy dies, god forbid, charge the officer with manslaughter at minimum.

That is exactly as I see it. There was NO reason to charge him. In fact wouldn't the officer be putting himself at MORE risk by doing what he did? Wouldn't it have been safer for the suspect and the officer if he had done what you proposed above?

When you carry a gun, it's never a very smart idea to get that close to an alleged perp, because said gun could be taken away. If the cop had not sent this guy instantly into a concrete wall, and the guy was actually a criminal this could have ended badly for the cop. I think the cop should be charged.

Exactly. No way is this taught as the correct procedure. This cop was pissed that he had to run after him and took it out on him.

There's a rich old guy in my town that was tackled by a State trooper one evening in his own yard and roughed up pretty badly.
He was doing pretty well before the incident but like I said, he is rich now.
I hope this guy recovers.
