Judge Napolitano: Obama Wants Shutdown to Be as Painful as Possible

Judge Andrew Napolitano stopped by Fox & Friends to discuss the controversy surrounding WWII vets being denied entry into the D.C. memorial due to the government shutdown. Then again, the judge pointed out that the shutdown hasn't stopped surveillance operations at the NSA.

With some help from members of Congress, the elderly vets eventually did bypass the barricades, but Napolitano believes President Obama wanted this shutdown because it helps him politically.

Like with the sequester, Napolitano said the Obama administration wants the shutdown to be as painful as possible, and has the ability to "increase the pain or decrease the pain" on the American people.

Judge & et al, are correct, Obama and the Democrats are making this as painful for the polateriat as possible for future political gain for their organized crime family.

I can't stand media meat puppet Douchee, but he has a very valid-factual point... all the previous government shutdowns, they never closed the memorials. You were free to visit as you wish.

Everyone thought Dubya W Bush was the nightmare asshole of the century, but Obama has pretty much outdone him on every single front. Lies, Wild West gun slinging, no rule of law, death from the air, targeting citizens, IRS targeting, wars, funding terrorism, overthrowing countries, targeting whistle-blowers, Fascism-Corporatism, Trickle-Down-Blood from Wall St/Banksters, kill lists... on & on.

What a Fuckin Scumbag.

Are people in this country really as stupid as the Obama administration takes them for? God I hope not.

I doubt it, but I think the Obama administrartion doesn't actually care. The ministry of truth corporate media will make it appear as though they really are that stupid & that the Obama administration does care, or basically try to fix public perception in whatever way they can.

"Need a work permit?" Our company has been waiting on a work permit for two years from the BLM. And the job isn't even on federal land or state land, just nearby.

The Shutdown Political Game: Inflict Maximum Pain To Score Cheap Points

Submitted by Charles Hugh-Smith of OfTwoMinds blog,

Voting for incumbents is like not voting at all: either way, you're throwing away your vote.

Here is the politicos' government shutdown game in a nutshell: inflict maximum pain on the rest of us to score cheap points with partisans.

The amount of money needed to keep the National Parks open is such a tiny slice of the Federal budget that it doesn't even register. Planned a trip of a lifetime to a National Park? Sorry, buddy--the whole game is making life as miserable as possible so we will be driven to partisan cheering for one side or the other.

Need a passport or a work permit? Tough luck, bucko. The sums of money needed to keep essential offices open is trivial, but that's the game plan for both parties: make the cuts that hurt the most with the least political exposure to blowback.

Please recall that every politico in Washington D.C. has known when the budget and debt ceiling would reach criticality. Yet they did nothing. We all know the two-party system of governance is broken, and that both parties are equally responsible. Yet what do we do? We continue to elect the incumbents who failed to change the political culture.

Please remember this absurd political theater in 2014 and 2016 and vote for third party and independent candidates. I have to laugh when people object, "But voting for third parties is throwing away your vote."

No, voting for Demopublican/Republicrat incumbents is throwing away your vote, because you're voting to guarantee more gridlock, corruption, can-kicking and dysfunction...

Government Shutdown is like the Cardiothoractic surgeon denying you your surgery. Then she says "we'll only operate on one vein." In this case, good surgeon gets to operate, you have one of your clogged arteries removed. IN the governments case, we're still paying shit to only 20& of the employees.

Washington DC scumbags that play their games off the people's backs as they keep the Kabuki Theater divide going. Now back to the AIO visionary brief by Carlin... "They don't give a fuck about you" They use you!"

I can't find it right now, but there is an article out there that is calling for the Dems to stop sending out Social Security checks, because that would force the GOP to cave.

Since that comes under "non-discressionary spending" I don't think that can be cut yet -but if the debt ceiling doesn't get raised they might get hit.

I don't see why they wouldn't be able to fund SS. SS+Medicare come out to $1.6 trillion this year and revenue is around $2.9 trillion. There's more than enough to pay those plus interest plus military.

If you want to balance (not have to borrow or raise the debt ceiling), you need to reduce spending by over $600 billion (get rid of about 18% of spending):

If you keep the "big three" (plus interest on the debt) intact, you pretty much have to get rid of almost everything else. Politically very difficult. Think Congress can do that (they can't even agree to simply freeze things as they are for a few months).
