He isn't dividing anything. If Paul wins the nomination he'll drop out, no doubt about it (who would vote for him over Paul anyway?). He's simply running as a libertarian because if Paul doesn't get the nomination or decide to go third party someone else should be on the ticket who believes in liberty.

Um. Did you think through what you just said, from Gary Johnson's perspective? You think Gary Johnson is thinking: "well I'll just play back-up presidential candidate in case the better representation of my ideas doesn't get in"? How could he raise money or build support that way? You've got to back up your statements when you say things like "He's simply running as a libertarian because if Paul doesn't get the nomination or decide to go third party someone else should be on the ticket who believes in liberty." Can you point to an instance where Johnson has said anything remotely resembling this? I'd be shocked, because that sort of defeatist attitude will not win anything and I think Johnson is smart enough to know that.
