[Video] Doug Wead on The Rachel Maddow Show talks about vote count debacle in Maine

Good interview, I feel like the phrase beauty contest could be taken the wrong way by some though. As she tries to paint the straw polls as the ultimate expression of democracy, when the caucuses really reflect the impassioned support a good candidate needs and has rightfully gotten!

Unreal...its obvious Mitt's supporters and ones in the counties/state GOP are responsible for all of this. Just who exactly is the stooge who called off Wash Cty due to snow? He said he was Mitt supporter. Was he a party official, a campaign official, or random idiot off the streets? And in Waldo Cty, seems they used comps or other electronic ways to count it, this way there is no paper trail. I hope the people at the caucus recorded their own votes. Still, what a damn mess.
 
Not to be ungrateful, I already forwarded to a friend, bit any way to just get the Maine stuff without the delegate part.

Not that its a big deal, it helps for supporters to know, but an easier to digest quicker video would be good to try to spread and get awareness on the Maine shenanigans.

Doug never even lets one little nuance slip by. He uses every nuanced point to our advantage, fully explains the process, and dispels any negative judgement the host, like Maddow, slips in. Amazing!

yep, they definitely didn't want to show their hand a full 3 weeks before Super Tuesday.. sort of like how we definitely didn't want to be surged into 1st by the PPP SOBs nearly 3 weeks before the vote in Iowa (worst. timing. ever.).

If we had been able to pull off a state or two, we'd probably be cruising into March's 11 caucus states 007-style. We also wouldn't be out of $$.

That said, I don't think Ron's lack of a 1st place finish is the entire story behind the crash in 'soft support'. If Ron was hustling on the trail - shaking hands, hosting town halls, giving speeches, etc - as hard as Santorum has been, we'd be winning over a lot of those 50/50 Paul supporters. They'd respect Ron's tenacity and 'true grit'.

If Ron hadn't gone back to TX after NH, SC, NV and MN, the movement would still be full-steam ahead (at the grassroots level)... as long as the core is 100% behind Ron, the campaign still can operate on a tight budget. But ignoring all of the questions/suggestions/frustrations of the core has caused many to step back
 
Hmmm. Great interview. Signs of life in the campaign for sure. MSNBC is losing the cable news ratings war, so this might be a story they run with to draw attention to their network. If that is the case then it may not be long before the other networks pick up on the story.

I am beginning to think the "delegate strategy" was a lot different than most of us had assumed it was.
 
The proper way to explain why the delegates process is legitimate is this:

"If we have a brokered convention, the delegates who were sent to vote for the candidates chosen by the caucus will serve as representatives of the GOP party in general and choose a nominee who may or may not even be one of the candidates who ran -- it could be Jeb Bush for all we know. So Ron Paul supporters are pushing to be delegates so that when and if such a scenario occurs, the selected nominee will perhaps be Ron Paul rather than Jeb Bush."

I can't say I approve. I didn't like this interview. He seemed dishonest. He would have us believe that we would have done better in the straw polls if we thought the straw polls were important. I don't buy it :/

Hopefully the average viewer isn't as critical, because otherwise it was a great interview.
