[Video] Doug Wead on The Rachel Maddow Show talks about vote count debacle in Maine

If it is a mistake, it might actually be a good one, if another campaign has to correct it, it makes the story bigger.

ding ding. we have a winner :)

doug wead wouldn't say washington county by accident. It's a calculated 'gaff'

I'm just really uncomfortable about divulging the delegate strategy. You would think they would want to keep that low key. But what do I know.

Doug killed it! I think he was a bit annoyed with her towards the end since he didn't say thanks or anything at the end. I think it stemmed from her assertion that we're "gaming" the system when we're only playing by their rules! I do give Rachel credit for covering the story however, she does give off some semblance of being an objective news figure.

I also loved the shout out he gave us! He knows we're pissed and we're going to do something about it!

As Doug Wead said, Santorum + Gingrich + Romney all are well aware of this system. And this system requires a unique strategy which allowed Obama to win the DNC in 2008. If the other campaign's cared to use this strategy, they would have by now.

Holy crap that was awesome. She totally took the bait for a chance to slam the GOPand their shenanigans, and then when she tried to turn it on Wear about the delegates, he straight told her how it was....

This is why I don't think anyone else is touching it...they have to know it at this point. Santorum and the Grinch are probably just upset that they have to help Paul in VA and don't want to do anything more than that, so they won't say it. Romney wants to keep his "cheat win", so he wont' dare say it...

I would say that's true, but we need to motive supporters. People won't vote for him if they don't think he is winning. Sure the die hard supporters will, but we need softer supporters too. Also, it's hard to raise money if it doesn't look like he is ahead.

We need to get this Maine thing won so we can use that instead, but if we don't, we may need to start pushing the idea that Ron Paul won five states pretty heavily.

Being able to talk about the delegate strategy has helped tremendously when I phone-banked North Dakota super voters.

I think they didn't want to but have to to show why Ron is credible. Unfortunately, the discussion does have consequences, both by those who manipulate these things seeing it coming, and Santorum seems to have woken up to the problems with his complete lack of ground game and is trying to get caucusers in Washington to commit to go to bat for him.
