Very Serious Allegations Made Against 2012 Ron Paul Campaign Manager Jesse Benton

That is why the campaign lawyers should have made sure they knew the rules. Unfortunately, many federal agencies appear to be investigating, so we will find out soon enough. What is really pathetic was how small minded the campaign was. While the Romney super pacs were raising and spending tens of millions of dollars, the top Ron Paul people appear busy with thirty thousand dollar checks and one state senator. It is like the Ron Paul campaign was bringing a knife to a machine gun fight. Romney's tens of millions vs Ron Paul millions.

Are you sure it was "illegal"?

i kee answering that question and youu kee ignoring it. no doubt trying to use fud to sway opinion . you are no more honest than they are, and you already know the answer... [mod edit]

the answer i gave was that the ethics committee has repeatedly ruled that yes, it is illegal to accept money from any campaign except your own. I also asked you a quuestion which you chose to ignore, which was ... if it was not illegal why did Benton lie about it, and why did they feel it necessary to launder the money through a third party? And heres a little emoticon for you, too!

What may worry the key players is if federal laws were broken. Why is Bachman under investigation and leaving office? She was one of the biggest fundraisers around. Something big might be happening. Some of the key players are very silent on this specific topic.

It goes back to what I've said all along there were two campaigns in 2012, Ron's and whatever the inner staff was doing. I wrote back then it was largely to protect Rand's long-term political interest but as it turns out is was much more than that. And these fellows, presumably, would be the ones running Rand 2016. As I've also said, these people have nothing but contempt for the grassroots and would basically run the campaign by themselves using robo-calling, large sums of money raised through McConnell's network and TV ads (oh and I suppose The Collins would be around too to bring them coffee).

What's scary is Ron Paul as President as these fellows running around the West Wing acting like teenagers when the parents aren't home. In context of the modern Presidency, like it or not, RP would have made a pretty poor president. As the head of his own company and the head of his own campaign, basically let his staffers do whatever they want in his name while he spends his time explaining the "message". It was perfect for these fellows because he could have cared less what they doing because he doesn't like the nuts and bolts of politics. It worked only so long if there was an honest fellow running things like Mark Elam or Kent Snyder. The benign neglect has tripped him up again and again in his career, whether it's the newsletters or Eric Dondero and now this juicy scandal. And by the time he does start caring it's way too late.

Oh how I miss Kent, God rest his soul. Maybe he didn't run a tight ship but at least he wasn't bribing little pissant state senators or getting rich off Ron Paul. His illiness and death robbed RP of the one man who wasn't who wasn't in this for himself, who saw the larger vision instead of the next quick buck. When he died, that spirit was gone away from Ron's side, replaced by an ingratiating little punk who married his way to influence. Rand cannot be President if he hires these morons and crooks on his team again, especially Benton. He's needs a brand new team who are both competent and honest at the same time.

Amen. Amen. Amen. +1 rep for typing out all that I was trying to say in another thread.

When people call me out as a Paultard and ask if I fall off Ron Paul worship anywhere this is what I say. He is NOT a good HR manager. He is too trusting and there are too many vultures in politics!

Unfortunately you are right. This is about RON. If Rand runs a ship like his father he will end up with a corrupt administration.

you mean like the last 20 presidents?....

saying you agree that Ron would have been a bad President puts into question the real agenda of some of you, so the only thing i can say is FUCK YOU and all your co-horts as well.

I still think he would have been a great President. He would have vetoed much and he definitely would have changed the heads of departments or eliminated departments that are past time to be GONE.

I do not think trusting people over all is bad. But in the viper pit that is DC, I believe it can very much be a guillotine.

And the FUCK YOU right back to you. I figured YOUR AGENDA a long time ago.

Actually it would have been Harding all over again with John Tate and Jesse Benton concocting their own "Teapot Dome" scandal.

And yeah Collins, bribery is illegal. He wasn't put on the campaign payroll. He didn't get his checks like everyone else. He got $30,000 in one fell swoop and his support had to be negotiated first through third parties It also had to be laundered through jewlery store. There was no need for any of it. I would said to him "Kent, Bachmann's finished. You know it, so you can join up with us or watch it all go down by your lonesome, your choice." There was no need to kiss this guys ass.

my agenda didn't include agreeing with a poster that said Ron Paul would have been a bad president, like YOU did.

I actually worked my ass off trying to become a Delegate in 2008. I succeeded. I tried again for 2012 but because of all the cheating and violence i fell short...

I'm still currently a Precinct Committee Officer.

i still scan the interwebs for liberty candidates to send money to.

I just sent the Patriot Adam Kokesh a hundred bucks...

you?
