Benton is toxic and has no business getting near the liberty movement. It looks that he has gotten himself into some serious deep water here. It's good that this is coming out now as Rand has a chance to get out in front of it. Benton and McConnell deserve each other."It’s jerks like you (Benton) who make the system corrupt, demoralize the grassroots and enable the very enemies of your grandfather-in-law."
"These are extremely serious allegations. There is no indication that Ron Paul was aware of any of this."
these allegations strike me as completely typical of politics.
Here's a link to the blogger that actually wrote the story: http://theiowarepublican.com/2013/the-payoff-details-revealed-on-sorensons-deal-with-ron-paul/
When this all happened, we called Michele Bachmann a liar for saying it. Now it looks like we may owe her an apology.

This memo not only discloses the financial compensation Sorenson sought to obtain, but also details his financial agreement with Bachmann.
Is this involving the person that ditched Bachmann's dying campaign and switched over to help Ron's?
If you claim you didn’t know what your deputy campaign manager was doing to seduce Kent Sorenson, you should have known.
Guys, I seriously think this is an effort to rout RP Republicans out of their key positions in the Iowa Republican Party. Don't you remember when the establishment there were talking about creating an entirely new party, just because of it? It looks to me like they are trying this approach instead.
Why do you so easily take the bait?
I like that idea.
Some kind of front page open letter to her from Ron Paul supporters, apologizing for having ever trusted Benton, could have a nice effect. It's not that we should have considered her the pinnacle of honesty. But no biped should be made out to be more of a snake than Benton.
Really?
.
I wouldn't do anything while she herself is in the middle of an ethics investigation and certainly not until this becomes more than hearsay. Which while I don't doubt it, until a copy of the check shows up with dates etc., legally it is hearsay. Why would the whole of RP supporters offer an apology when there's no evidence that all RP supporters called her a liar? As far as I am concerned she's done enough to hurt the liberty movement in other ways, I don't feel she deserves an apology for anything. Let Jesse Benton apologize and pay the piper if these allegations are true.
Judas is rising.
