Very Interesting Huck Forum thread

And they wonder why Christianity is decreasing in percentage and popularity.
Interestingly enough, only in the west. In the Middle East, China, India, Pakistan, and many Asian nations, Christianity is flourishing at historically unprecedented rates.

..."His isolationist views & belief that if we just trade with & talk to other nations & be nice to them they will be nice to us is part of the Democratic platform. It is unrealistic & completely naive to even hope that fundamentalist Islamic terrorists (among many other groups) would ever be nice, no matter what we do. They want to assimilate or destroy us period."...

9/11 truth anyone? Without it human liberty is doomed.

Interestingly, trading with other nations seems to no longer be part of the democratic platform (at least without restrictive "labor and environmental agreements")

"It seems that Paul's attitude of leaving things to states is indicative of a fundamental view of life for him. Kind of a "I don't engage in that behavior but I certainly won't try to stop others from doing it" platform. When challenged to speak out against actions by his supporters he refused. He said he won't stop them from sending him money & he can't tell them how to behave socially. He would not reject even illegal behavior of supporters. I realize that most of his supporters are probably intelligent, thoughtful Americans like MoRepub who want to support a candidate based upon issues. But there were supporters across the country who engaged in criminal activities against other candidates. By refusing to ask those supporters to stop, he condoned the criminal behavior."

This is the statement that hurt me the most in that thread.
It seems that "live and let live" is impossible for mainstream America, especially the "let live"part.

So it sounds like theocracies are pretty popular still over at hucksarmy.

They are against him because he's pro-life but thinks the states should decide? Didn't he sponsor a bill that defined life at conception? Maybe someone who is a user on that forum needs to inform them of this. These people obviously haven't 'researched' RP like they've stated.

If only we had posted the following legislation that Paul introduced...

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h110-2597

I would do it myself, but I'm not very good at tactfully introducing myself to those types.

i'm not even religious and I would consider myself more Christian(based on my personal values matching up to christian values) than those Huckabee supporters in that thread.

If Americans were only taught the true history of how the colonies of Britain became the United States of America they would understand what State Rights are and would be in favor of them.

Sure America is still great today, BUT if we continue the path we are currently taking we will no longer be great. Since we know what is happening we are called nuts and are dismissed and they make us feel helpless(at least me anyways).

A lot of the negative RP comments on that thread really sounds like echo speak from listening to too much FOX. Mostly catch phrases and group think terms used.

If someone has an account could you post this?

He writes legislature all the time that would define life at conception which would overturn Roe Vs. Wade. This legislature never gets passed by congress unfortunately. If Life was defined at conception than Roe Vs. Wade would be overturned. Life at conception would not need a constitutional amendment because the constitution protects all human life.

Ron Paul's abortion approach has been the most constitutional. He thinks Roe Vs, Wade is unconstitutional because it takes the power out of yours, the voters hands. He believe abortion is an act of violence and that the constitution says all acts of violence are in states hands. (as it is now) You must understand that if you have the power to vote for this at the state level that a majority would vote pro-life! That is why it went to supreme court to begin with...the states were denying the "right"

If you face the facts unless Sanctity of Life Act (Pauls Bill) passes the only chance you will have at turning this around is if you let the states decide. The federal government surely is not going to outlaw the practice on its level. Fighting for a federal ban is a losing battle...you have to start from the ground up. Paul understands this.
Yes, republicans can shout "pro life" all day long but non of them in congress or otherwise have done as much as Paul has for the pro-life movement. What has Huckabee done for the movement?
Ron Paul wrote an anti-abortion book, he makes speeches in congress and elsewhere and he introduced numerous legislature on the subject and he brought 4000 lives into this world. To say he is not pro-life enough is absurd and an outrage to all the hard work he has done for the movement.

Also on pro family - marriage should not be a federal issue. Its a religious issue. The federal government (or state for that matter) has no business in my marriage, why should they? I suggest everyone educate themselves on why they got involved in the first place. Pastors marry people, not the government. Why do you want the government here? Are you afraid your pastor might marry a gay couple? I think not. Is marriage a contract between you and the state or you and God? I have to be licensed to get married? Kind of like driving? Disgusting abuse of state/federal power. Thats Pauls stance, government out of you personal life. Amen to that.

The Christian religion is totally against the kind of approach Bush is using towards the middle east. I don't understand how Christians can be so intolerant towards the muslims. They are your human brothers and sisters. Christianity is the religion of peace.
If you support the troops you will listen to the troops. They say its time to get out and overwhelmingly support Dr Paul, retired and active duty both. Generals are leaving the military out of protest. You ever heard of "walk softly and carry a big stick? That is all that is needed to defeat them and we don't have to murder innocent people in the process. Dr. Paul pretty much predicted an attack less we change our policy way before the attacks happened. I like that foresight.

9/11 truth anyone? Without it human liberty is doomed.

Some readers here apparently got the impression these were my words (above the "***" partition). I was quoting one of the posts on the Huckabee thread which is the topic of this thread to show that the crux of the blindness rests in the idea the "islamofascists" want us dead for no good reason, juss because they are evil. I was trying to point out that the need for 9/11 truth is not optional but all of human liberty is endangered by the lies concerning 9/11.

We have not been told the truth. That much is clear and our liberty is under attack because of 9/11. This was my point in quoting the mindset of a Huckabee poster which is so prevalent across the nation and prevents any true grasp of the causes and effects of our misguided foreign policy.

there are also a lot of Huck supporters that aren't necessarily Christian but they supported the Fair Tax and he was the only candidate promoting it.

I know, I was one of them and even Ron Paul has said that the Fair Tax isn't the end goal but it is better than what we have now.

BUT then I started to listen to the Huckster during debates and I was introduced to Ron Paul and found that his plan made even more sense. Both men wanted to get rid of the IRS but under Ron Paul's plan it wouldn't be replaced with anything.

Most think that is impossible because they don't know that the Government makes plenty of money to run outside of the Income Tax (if wasteful spending was eliminated).

I guess my point is that not all of Huck's supporters are crazy religious freaks. lol
I still think many people in the general public just don't realize what Ron Paul's message really is. He virtually never has a chance to fully explain it in simple terms during debates and he is always trying to defend himself from reporters. Add that to the fact that the Media has painted him as a radical (along with his supporters) and many people don't even listen to his message just because it is HIS message. They are programmed to think he is a nutcase.

Education seems like the most essential goal we could ever have for the long term success of the movement. Whether it is making DVDs or buying books or late-night infomercials to reach every household in America... educating the public will change everything, even if you don't attach Ron Paul's name to it.

We won't win over everyone and we don't have to. All we need to do is reach critical mass in the right areas where political power can be stripped from those who are against liberty and sound money.

Unfortunately, among those who prefer their pastor's convenient interpretation to real Christianity based on Jesus' teachings, such reasoned approaches aren't very likely to succeed. Nonetheless, there are plenty of other, more reasonable people to educate. I just wonder if Huck's website is the place to find them...

I see they locked the thread...talk about avoidance of new ideas or truth for that matter.

when are we going to stop wasting time and bandwidth trying to 'convert' huck supporters? its been plainly obvious (at least to me) that they dont even come close to being labeled as conservative republicans. they want federal intervention on the abortion issue which in my mind screams liberalism. they dont seem to care all to much about the worsening fiscal crisis we are facing. Most of them are for tighter gun laws, bigger government and pro war. I do not consider a hard core huck supporter a conservative republican and as such, we should just consider them lost causes.

The Next Battle

WE NEED A "CONSTITUION 101" MASS EDUCATION.............. NOW...!

HOW do we educate our neighbors on the pitifully poor shape of our Constitution, and how it's been sideswiped, and hightlight how with each session of Congress we loose more and more of our rights ??? Answers anyone ???

What do you think of a 2 day rally at your state capitol could accomplish... of course it would unite us, maybe even add a few to our numbers with a march. What about having a town hall the same weekend, inviting the new crop of politicians running for office to have a voice that day, so that WE may ask questions FREELY of them. Anyone see the possibilities ???

50 states holding 50 marches this summer....... with a real focus on educating our apathetic neighbors about the Constitution.
Better ideas anyone ???

I like this idea. Here is my take of where and what we should be doing.

We need to get off the couch and get busy. First, for all those states that have already held their primaries and state conventions, we need to find out who the delegates to the national convention are and try to convert them to Ron Paul.
Not an easy task, given how the Huckabee followers are enarmored of their "candidate", the others who wish to NOT support John McCain may give an ear and actually vote for Ron Paul. We need to know what other political positions are open for the 2008 election in our state and research those candidates that most follow the Ron Paul message. If they will scratch our back, we will scratch theirs. I am sure they would be looking for the support that the RP followers can give them.
They will all be looking for monetary support as well as footsoldiers to get out the message for their campaigns. They in turn can advocate the message and when the time comes and they have won their elections, they can implement the changes that are needed. We would of course like to have them advocate Ron Paul also, but they may not want to have the stigma associated with him caused by the MSM attached to themselves, until after they win.

The states that have not held their primaries or conventions will still have the hard job of the door to door and phone canvassing for Ron Paul. Also if it is not too late in those states, to have our people apply to run for precinct, county, and state delegates, then national delegates! These delegates should promote themselves not as Ron Paul supporters (a hard pill to swallow I know), but as supporters of the message. For some reason people are in agreement of the message, just not Ron Paul. By the time OUR people are national delegates it would be too late for them to worry about where the message came from.
We need more Ron Paul idealists to run for any offices that open, from precinct delegates, township supervisors, county commissioners, county clerks, etc.
Let's fill up the local elected offices with RP minded people.
In these states, we should find out what offices are up for election and again find the candidates, who if not one of us, most fill the bill of Ron Paul's message. The same adage holds true for them....you scratch my back, we'll scratch yours.

We have all read of some of the candidates who are running for office as U.S. Congressmen and U.S. Senators and we are supporting them. We need to find all of them that support the message and support them also.

We The People, is holding a free seminar March 29, 2008 in Grand Rapids MI, regarding the unconstitutional crimes being perpetrated against us. I will be attending and I think more of this is needed to awaken the sheep as to what is happening. It is my opinion that too many Americans pass the buck and do not want to work at learning what they need know to preserve the freedoms that they are taking for granted. Shame on them! They are unwilling to learn about their civil liberties and rights in order to keep them. Freedom is not free. You must learn to earn them. You must speak out and vote to defend them. If you feel they are outdated then work at getting it amended, but do not be suprised if the majority of the people are not of a like mind. But if we the grassroots movement do not succeed in waking up those with their heads in the sand, it will be too late and oh the hue and crying that will go on then.

I know where my guns are, do you? Let's all work really hard, from the precincts to the national level so it does not come to that.

I had a great, well though out post that I posted in a Huckabee forum (not Huck's Army) supllying anti-Christian things both Mike and his family have done over the past years. I got many replies abou t it too, ranging from "wow, I really didn't know he did that" to "f*ck you" and so on.

I wish I could find that post - as soon as they realized it was a 'Huck isn't who you think he is' thread, they deleted it... and I don't believe I saved it. :(
