No one IS looking for criminals, that would be the problem. But Bad Guys are swashbuckling with impunity. And cops are HIDING IN BUSHES to issue oh-so-lucrative speeding tickets to an already beleaguered citizenry.

You have the right to defend yourself, but why go looking for trouble? You are possibly creating crime that otherwise would not have occured by doing this. He said he was "fishing for criminals", this hurts our cause in the court of public opinion. Let me add, I agree with their right to do this. It is my opinion that this is not smart and it creates a bad opinion of CCers.

I'm torn here. Like jth_ttu, I feel like banging my head against cement every time someone does something politically stupid in the name of something I also believe in. At the same time, I admire the courage it takes to say, "Screw hiding from criminals safely in my house and being afraid to walk the 'wrong streets.' I'm going to go wherever I damn well please, and nobody had better dare touch me or anyone else around me." That said, actually "fishing for criminals" is indeed taking it a bit far into The Brave One territory (first vigilante movie that popped into my mind).

My cause is completely restoring second amendment rights. To do this we must have public support and when people say something to hurt our cause on National Televison it makes me mad. Like I said if they want to do it I support their right to as long as they don't endanger or hurt innocent people in the process, but it is not a smart move.

I never called them radical. I simply said it was not smart to go out of your way to find trouble and most people will look down on CC because of their statement.

Why go looking for trouble? I'd say it's much cheaper than hiring more LEOs to go looking for us! I think it would be great if more citizens did this as long as they are not provoking people and don't infringe on anyone's rights.

Hats off to these folks, i sure wouldn't go out with them, but their cause seems worthy

It's one thing to carry a concealed firearm for protection. It's very different matter to put yourself out their as "bait" with the intent of getting into a armed confrontation with criminals. Brave or foolish, I don't know.
