Idiots! These people hurt our cause. NOONE should go around looking for criminals.
I completely disagree.
No one IS looking for criminals, that would be the problem. Congress and Lyin' Barack Ivory Tower Obama's Administration ARE legislating piddly-ass "criminals" into existence, which is blatantly mercenary and unchristian. But Bad Guys are swashbuckling with impunity. And cops are HIDING IN BUSHES to issue oh-so-lucrative speeding tickets to an already beleaguered citizenry.

GANSTA GOVERNMENT BREEDS GANG ACTIVITY. IT STANDS TO REASON. PRESUMING OFFICIALS ARE NOT STUPID, THEY ENCOURAGE CRIME = ECONOMIC STIMULUS.

Officialdom's refusal to address increasing police brutality willfully pits Law Enforcement against People, when Officialdom is the problem.

Violence against police property in Seattle is not surprising. What kind of country has annual ANTI POLICE BRUTALITY protests? A brutal one.

You have the right to defend yourself, but why go looking for trouble?
You are possibly creating crime that otherwise would not have occured by doing this.
He said he was "fishing for criminals", this hurts our cause in the court of public opinion.
It is scarcely a matter of LOOKING for trouble. We got Trouble right here in River City. Everywhere you look.
It is now a matter of who will continue to sidestep trouble for self-preservation, and who will confront it.
I'm for confronting it. I think Americans have been milquetoast pansies for long enough.
Are you suggesting that criminals only behave like criminals when they feel hunted?
If two young men electing to defend themselves AND OTHERS hurts your Cause, I advise you to revisit your Cause. And maybe read the thread about the step-right-up-git-yer-ringside-seats Gang Bang.
...I admire the courage it takes to say, "Screw hiding from criminals safely in my house and being afraid to walk the 'wrong streets.' I'm going to go wherever I damn well please, and nobody had better dare touch me or anyone else around me."
That said, actually "fishing for criminals" is indeed taking it a bit far into The Brave One territory (first vigilante movie that popped into my mind).
I'm no stranger to 20-somethings, considering I am one, and we're not all incapable of restraint.THAT'S the ticket.
Bullies are NEVER niced out of being Bullies. Nor reasoned out of it. Nor educated out of it. If Bullies will do any backing down, it will be in the face of LIKE FORCE, period. That's as true of White Collar Bullies as it is of Street Bullies, by the by.
THEY'RE TWENTY-SOMETHINGS.
You'd be AMAZED how often I hear 20-somethings say stupid stuff.
That's why I can't help but respect them, even if this does end badly in the political sense. I hope they inspire people and scare the piss out of violent criminals, but being a cynical person, I have my doubts. They are men of ACTION and, from where I sit, that is what we desperately need. They are people who mean it when they say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
It is now a matter of who will continue to sidestep trouble for self-preservation, and who will confront it. .

I dont look for trouble, but if it finds me I will always be ready to confront it.
No criminals could rob someone regardles of whether or not they are being hunted, but when you are hunting criminals your intention is to create a situation where a crime will occur to justify you using deadly force.
My cause is completely restoring second amendment rights. To do this we must have public support...
...it is not a smart move.
I just hope these kids take the time to educate themselves about the proper usage and handling of the $159.00 firearms they just purchased.
Other than that, they got a permit so go for it.
I have conceded exuberantly imprudent speech. Whaddya wanna bet it was their first time on teevee? HOWEVER, comma, roaming around Prepared with an eye out for criminals does NOT incite the crime that, in fact, MAY be interrupted by Roaming Prepared Good Guys..
Cruising around Prepared, Looking, Ready -- what they unwisely called FISHING -- is not the same thing as hunting ducks where you provoke the prey to fly up into the open. No criminal calls to mirror bird calls, alas. .
And yet . . . whenever John Q. Public expresses his support by actually DOING what supporters TALK about, they get labeled as radical.
American Politics is like American Crime . . . fear-based and highly profitable. These guys are pushing back from the table. Good on them. .
Again, I completely disagree. Unless and until American Officials and American Criminals become AFRAID -- like they have made Rank & File afraid -- NOTHING will change. Why SHOULD Bad Guys change? They're makin' money AND enjoying heightened security, as is.
Exactly what I was thinking...Sooo, are ya sayin' that stuffing the gun down his crotch could have regrettable consequences?
You have the right to defend yourself, but why go looking for trouble? You are possibly creating crime that otherwise would not have occured by doing this. He said he was "fishing for criminals", this hurts our cause in the court of public opinion. Let me add, I agree with their right to do this. It is my opinion that this is not smart and it creates a bad opinion of CCers.
