US Navy murders Venezuelan citizens on the open seas

The president doesn't magically acquire infinite power because they have been elected by the people.

I'd accuse you of breaking a heart. But as we know, neither bots nor the IDF operatives who run them have hearts.

Sorry, bloodthirsty bot. The US traditionally conducted itself abroad with decorum and respect for a reason. When push comes to shove it came back to reward us. Lots of combatants we faced in WWII surrendered because they had good reason to believe they were safer as our POW than they were from their own officer corps.

It has been stupid to slowly abandon that, and the bot is stupid to double down on the policy.

Decorum and respect doesn't win wars.

We won World War 2 by firebombing and dropping nuclear bombs on people's foreheads.

We won World War 2 by...

... doing one hell of a lot of things, many of which involved decorum and respect.

I don't expect a defective widget programmed by the most bloodthirsty government on the planet to understand, but I stated it for the record nonetheless.

Shouldn't you be in the other thread making lame excuses for your fellow defective widget, the F-35?

The F-35 dominated Iran in a war recently. The USA's air superiority isn't disputable.

No other country in the world could have done what Israel and the USA did to Iran.

LOL

Iran is the first country to shoot one down.

But no, they couldn't shoot down so many during your one single mission "war" that they can claim the most. The F-35's deadliest enemy remains the F-35 itself.

They didnt shoot down an F-35. That was fake news.

They did shoot down some of our drones though a couple years back.

I guess the drones got their revenge.

There are no legal limitations to the presidents authority to do their job which is to defend the United States.
You said that the law protects the rights of US citizens.

Is that not the case?

The judicial branch is not more powerful than the executive branch of government.
Turns out that the judicial branch didn't write those laws.

We have a separation of powers.

The president's authority under article 2 is the law.
What law is the president's authority? Who wrote it?

There is no higher law or authority you can appeal to.

The fact that soldiers carrying out the president's article 2 authority have been convicted of crimes for the past two centuries seems to disprove your worldview.

This is amazing to me. The same right-wingers who believe that the FBI and DOJ engaged in a systematic campaign to frame the sitting president for treason, are cool with video footage of the military blowing up a boat because they assure us that there were all drug traffickers on board? In the not too distant future "law enforcement" will have drones patrolling US cities, is this really the right response to people concerned about stuff like evidence and trials?

But you see that was before Pam Bondi and Kash Pattel took over and covered up for rooted out all of the deep state paedophiles.

The article 2 authority and the president's mandate is to defend the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness from enemies foreign and domestic.

John Adams wrote the first ever constitution. He said the purpose of the government he created as one of the founding fathers is to make people happy.

It definitely makes me happy that our government is finally going after our enemies who are harming our people.

No. The president's mandate is to take care to faithfully execute the laws written by congress.

John Adams wrote the first ever constitution.
I think you'll find that's not true.

It definitely makes me happy that our government is finally going after our enemies who are harming our people.
Run out of anything other than your personal pleasure at the deaths of people who had not committed a capital crime?

I thought you were enjoying talking about laws and how important they are. How about this one:

Any person subject to this chapter who, without justification or excuse, unlawfully kills a human being, when such person—
(1)
has a premeditated design to kill;

(2)
intends to kill or inflict great bodily harm;

(3)
is engaged in an act which is inherently dangerous to another and evinces a wanton disregard of human life; or

(4)
is engaged in the perpetration or attempted perpetration of burglary, rape, rape of a child, sexual assault, sexual assault of a child, aggravated sexual contact, sexual abuse of a child, robbery, or aggravated arson;

is guilty of murder, and shall suffer such punishment as a court-martial may direct, except that if found guilty under clause (1) or (4), such person shall suffer death or imprisonment for life as a court-martial may direct, unless such person is otherwise sentenced in accordance with a plea agreement entered into between the parties under section 853a of this title (article 53a).

It is true- John Adams and his wife were architects of the constitution of the United States and the entire structure of our divided government.

The 1780 Constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, drafted by John Adams, is the world's oldest functioning written constitution. It served as a model for the United States Constitution, which was written in 1787 and became effective in 1789.

"The dignity and stability of government in all its branches, the morals of the people, and every blessing of society depend so much upon an upright and skillful administration of justice, that the judicial power ought to be distinct from both the legislative and executive, and independent upon both, that so it may be a check upon both, as both should be checks upon that. The judges, therefore, should be always men of learning and experience in the laws, of exemplary morals, great patience, calmness, coolness, and attention. Their minds should not be distracted with jarring interests; they should not be dependent upon any man, or body of men. To these ends, they should hold estates for life in their offices; or, in other words, their commissions should be during good behavior, and their salaries ascertained and established by law."

April 4th, 1984. Last night to the flicks. All war films. One very good one of a ship full of refugees being bombed somewhere in the Mediterranean. Audience much amused by shots of a great huge fat man trying to swim away with a helicopter after him. first you saw him wallowing along in the water like a porpoise, then you saw him through the helicopters gunsights, then he was full of holes and the sea round him turned pink and he sank as suddenly as though the holes had let in the water, audience shouting with laughter when he sank, then you saw a lifeboat full of children with a helicopter hovering over it, there was a middleaged woman might have been a jewess sitting up in the bow with a little boy about three years old in her arms, little boy screaming with fright and hiding his head between her breasts as if he was trying to burrow right into her and the woman putting her arms round him and comforting him although she was blue with fright herself, all the time covering him up as much as possible as if she thought her arms could keep the bullets off him, then the helicopter planted a 20 kilo bomb in among them terrific flash and the boat went all to matchwood, then there was a wonderful shot of a child’s arm going up up up right up into the air a helicopter with a camera in its nose must have followed it up and there was a lot of applause from the party seats

The US constitution was not the first constitution.
