In your example, the Nazis were holding Jews hostage and that's bad because holding people hostage is bad.

The Allies were denying food to come in, but they weren't preventing civilians from going out.

Israel on the other hand, is holding the Gaza residents hostage. (And that's bad because holding people hostage is bad.)

That goes against the very principle of all men are equal.

The United Nations only works if people police their regions.
