Far more people die each year from alcohol than fentanyl. No, I would not buy fentanyl for my son, myself, or anyone else. But that doesn't change the fact that vices are not crimes.
I don't deny your claim that a lot of people who take fentanyl don't even know it. But why is this? It is a predictable result of the war on drugs. And the actions the Trump administration has been taking will make this problem worse, not better. People are going to choose to ingest cocaine, heroin, and other drugs, and generally these people would rather not have these drugs be adulterated with fentanyl. So why would anyone want to sell them drugs that are adulterated with fentanyl? Because the federal government has made it difficult to possess and transport unadulterated cocaine, heroin, and other such drugs. So dealers use a substitute that packs far more potency into far smaller amounts in order to stretch their supply farther. If the government didn't want that to happen, then simply getting out of the way and letting people possess, sell, buy, and use, cocaine, heroin, etc., openly, would solve that problem. Not only would these drug users be far less likely to take fentanyl, but the ones who want help with their addictions would be free to seek it out without being punished as criminals for their victimless crimes.
What specifically was in these boats that Trump blew up? Fentanyl? Or bulkier drugs that didn't contain fentanyl?
