This is my first post, so forgive me if I've breached convention or something.
T.V. Ads:
The official campaign, if it really wants to win, and not just foment a movement (laudable in its own right) must change its T.V. advertising. The superiority of the T.V. ads done by suppoters to those done by the official campaign is striking and indisputable. The success of the campaign depends, in my mind, entirely upon the successful dissemination of Dr. Paul's message. The dire issues that are facing our country, impending economic collapse, deterioration of civil liberties, and mushrooming tax burden, among many others, must be discussed by the campaign! I've heard many times that the voters aren't intelligent enough to understand the issues that are central to our current political situation. To a degree this is arrogant nonsense, and to the degree that most voters are interested in the nicities of inflationary policy, they can feel the effect on their wallet! This is the role of marketing! You say in your commercial: "have you noticed how gas and food prices have risen so dramatically in recent years, yet no one running seems to be talking about why?" Cut to clip of Dr. Paul explaining the inflationary policies of the Fed and the sky-rocketing gas prices resulting from our foreign excursions. You say in your commercial: "Why does the government now take nearly __ percent of our national income, and yet things are getting worse, not better. The number of impoverished people, the quality of education, the regulations imposed on small businesses: government is making things worse! Why do no other candidates talk about the massive and inefficient role of the federal government in our society?" Cut to clip of Dr. Paul talking about small government! You say in commercial: "Everyone running for office seems to think we have to maintain our presence in Iraq indefinitely, until, they say, 'we've won.' But haven't we won the war already? Iraq has 300,000 troops and elected officials. The problem is that there is no standard for victory, so we'll never know when we've won. Unless we want to have troops in Iraq as long as we've had them in Germany and South Korea, which we can't afford, we'd better bring them home soon." You say in commercial: "Why is no one in the presidential race talking about the falling dollar, and the rising prices that are hitting Americans in the wallets?" Etc., etc., etc. BUT TALK ABOUT SOMETHING SUBSTANTIVE! PLEASE!
SHOW CLIPS OF DR. PAULS SPEAKING TRUTH, THE SAME THING THAT GOT ALL OF THE DIVERSE, ECELECTIC CROSSSECTION OF PEOPLE ONTO THIS FORUM. THE COMMERCIALS THEY'RE RUNNING NOW WOULDN'T HAVE DONE IT FOR ME, THAT'S FOR SURE!
