[Update: Withdrew] Trump's DEA nominee [Chronister] is a gun-grabber, and anti-freedom

I don't look for people I agree with 100% anymore. I don't care about RFK's opinions on abortion or this guy's view on gun rights. Its irrelevant. Cut the DEA in half anyways.

No because Trump can't abolish the DEA without Congress. But if he puts in a pro-freedom Director, they can cripple or hamper the organization top down, inside out. Unfortunately that's the best we can hope for.

I feel you, but with regards to a tyrant like this, I don't see someone like him taking steps to dismantle the DEA.

We all remember like a whole year of the Covid conversation being about two different drugs.
Drugs that the DEA absolutely could claim jurisdiction over.

Likewise, it isn't hard to find DEA press releases about arrests they performed where the crimes included illegally possessing guns.

Then you are hoping for too much.

Trump doesn't want to abolish the DEA, even if Congress would let him (which, of course, they wouldn't).

And even if he wanted to hamper or hamstring the DEA with a "pro-freedom" administrator (which he doesn't), the Senate would never confirm such a nominee.

They didn't then because they couldn't, they doubly couldn't in Trump's new administration.
