Lindell: Finks and Cohen don’t represent Paul campaign
By Jessica Alaimo

Ken Lindell, coordinator of the Maine Ron Paul campaign, said the two men removed from the Maine Republican Convention earlier did not represent the campaign, although both said earlier that they were Paul supporters.

Mark Finks of Falmouth was escorted out of the convention after he tried to speak out against a provision which he said kept Paul’s state delegates from being elected to the national delegation. Ed Cohen had tried to get onto the floor, saying he was a delegate even though officials said he wasn’t.

Lindell said that he had not heard of Finks being a Paul delegate, and that Paul did very poorly in Falmouth.

Cohen had been asked to leave the Waterville Paul delegation. “We don’t want him,” Lindell said.

According to Lindell here:

One was Ed Cohen. He is a full-time agitator. Two years ago he was at the Democrat convention as Kucinnich delegate. He was kicked out of the Waterville delegation by the delegate chair who is a Ron Paul supporter. He tried to crash the convention and was escorted out.

The other was Mark Finks of Falmouth who claimed to be a Paul delegate but has never been involved in the organization.

The Cohen guy is not someone we want to be associated with -- a full time agitator The Fink guy was not known to Lindell, the Paul coordinator. He seems like an nice enough guy, perhaps a little eccentric. I found this on him. He apparently was out of line though.

Some people just cry out for a good public beating. A pity that public stocks have gone out of fashion.

I think the problem here is that we have supporters going in, expecting bad things to happen against them. That one county in Texas and NV seem to be legit... but ya, these Maine guys seem to be fuzzballs*

*This is the second time I have used the term "fuzzball" tonight and I may plan on using it numerous times in the future =)

I know Mark Finks...he was out of line in trying to get on the delegation floor. He was appointed an alternate from the Town of Falmouth. Alternates are not allowed on the convention floor and he refused to leave. He had been in contact with RP delegates and was being used as a resource on parlimentary procedure by some delegates having attended conventtions before.

I have to ask...

why didn't he already know he couldn't be there, if he's the expert?
