I don't support free trade either because there is no such thing. While we are being nice and playing fair, other countries are protecting their economies. With "free trade" everyone wins but us.

China is doing great right now, this is the argument people make who don't know anything about economics.

economies are cyclical. Their gdp is still higher than ours regardless of their stock market bubble popping.

Trump is right. It's not "free trade" when countries de-value their currencies which makes it impossible for our businesses to compete. True free trade is when both sides allow their currency to float.

Nope, Ron is right. Free Markets work crony capitalism doesn't work and that's why corrections happen. You can't look at short term bullshit when they are quantitative easing all of the time.

Managed trade deals are not free markets. Even Ron has railed against NAFTA and other dubious trade deals.

From Ron Paul's book:
In spite of my strong support for free trade, I have felt compelled to oppose many of the trade agreements that have appeared in recent years.

He supports free trade in theory, but in practice he knows it does not exist, and he opposes these ruinous, one-sided "free trade" deals.

Trump has had an isolationist streak for a long long time. Going back to 1987. He's a businessman who sees the lunacy of war from a dollars and cents angle.

War is bad for business if your business is not in military contracts and making weapons

That's far from the only thing that's not free about it. Other countries don't have minimum wage laws either, some have actual slave labor, they don't follow the same environmental laws that American companies have to, etc.

Ok, I don't have time to watch a 20 minute video right now, but what does supply 7 demand have to do with free trade? You are confusing free trade with free markets. We can eliminate regulations nationally to have a free market in America, and we should. We can't control what other countries do though, we are never going to have free international markets. That's just not what free trade is.

What does supply and demand have to do with the free market?

Christie definitely has the toughness needed to go after people like the Clintons and Soros' of the world, but he doesn't have the inclination. I hope Trump picks a solid conservative for that spot.

The scariest thing for me would be Christie's threat to clamp down on legal marijuana. I would rage if that hypocritical fat bastard became AG.

It's time for the "who loves Israel most" contest.

My goodness that was embarassing to watch.

As if Israel would not treat Arabs in the occupied territories like dog shit since 40 years+

I know its a looooong story... but playing as if Israel is the small underdog victim only in selfdefense is so ridiculous in anyones sane unbiased mind...

Having watched the full debate by now (always better to look it later as you can fast forwind ...), I dont understand why the moderators cannot switch off microphones. Its obvious that especially Trump were begging for it by being obnoxious and destroying any debate by his behaviour, like a child.

Its also so clear, that he produces nothing else than word bubbles, there is no plan behind it, he doesnt argument or reason at all. Ofc the career politicians do the same thing. The only difference between them and Trump is that he does it in a politically incorrect style. Rude, offensive, loud. But nothing but bubbles. As soon as you try to ask him how he would accomplish this or that, only bubbles leave his mouth "We will do it and we do it the best way and I am Trump and look, WE WILL DO IT. I WILL DO IT I WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN." Thats all.

Like Rand said... nothing but a Reality TV star. Yah, he is funny at times, I admit. And entertaining at times.

But that 20 min Morning Prayer Speech by Carson gives you so much more than all what Trump said in his whole life combined.

Thank you for the link. Really a delightful speech, I liked it very much.

You are quite welcome. I heard it on radio, so it was fun to see actual video of the First Lady clapping her hands off, then having cold water thrown on her.

I think debate, when done according to the rules, can be a good vehicle for Carson. Unfortunately Blitzer couldn't moderate his way out of a paper bag if it was on fire, so really good candidates suffer.
