Have you seen the thread where Americans are finding out about jobs and applying for them, and the employers are going ballistic because they were trying to hold out for cheaper H1B labor?

H1B workers are not a new thing. What new thing has happened to cause unemployment to go up at a time when immigrants are (supposedly) being deported in record numbers? (I don't think record deportation is actually happening but that's what we're being told is happening).

So expansion of the labor pool via immigration results in economic expansion which utilizes more imported labor.

You may be shocked to find out that homes require more than just construction. And that homes have ongoing needs after construction is over.

But maybe all of those jobs are also not American enough for you?

Side note: Maybe in your state immigrants are buying brand new single family homes, but in the state of reality where I live، they tend to rent. From Americans.

When does any of this activity actually result in these poor unemployed Americans you are so concerned about getting jobs?

What exactly is your argument here? That no economy at all is preferable to an economy with immigrants in it?

Aren't we getting rid of the immigrants to help those poor unemployed Americans?

We have a case study now with the Springfield Ohio Haitians. Long closed factories were opened thanks to the influx of people who weren't on drugs and were willing to work. That caused a net positive increase of economic activity and a per capita decrease of crime. And why do you think Trump is now reversing course and wanting to give amnesty for illegal immigrants working in the hotel, manufacturing and agricultural industries and to bring in 600K Chinese students? Trump is running away from his own policies.

However In 2024, there was a reported 20% decrease in motor vehicle theft BUT a 9% increase in robberies compared to the previous year.

Importing uneducated, low income people who do not understand our form of government is not a win.

I take it you've never actually worked in construction? I have within the past 5 years done contracting. I've hired white, black, latino, whatever. The idea that ALL of the construction jobs are or were going to "imported labor" is a myth.

I only do "construction" for myself or helping friends. But yes, I have been on major construction sites, and could not find a single person working on site that spoke English. Had to wait for a Mexican American supervisor to eventually show up.

So it's better to have dilapidated empty houses just sitting there as an eyesore and being occuppied by methheads and rats than it is for some "imported labor" to do some of the work?

Depends upon where you live now, doesn't it? That doesn't happen in California, which is the bleeding edge for the ramifications of massive immigration.

Riddle me this Batman. Why is unemployement going UP? I mean based on your theories it should be going DOWN right now. Maybe, just maybe, your economic theories are BS? Just saying.

Exactly. When every sector of the economy goes to imported labor, imported supplies, and imported goods, the only jobs created by this expansion for existing everyday Americans is Starbucks and possibly a government job which requires citizenship. Then there's always welfare for the rest.

Oh yeah, and jobs for Wall St. Lots of jobs for Wall St. Our economy consists of printing money, and government spending it or dropping it on Wall St. So yeah, plenty of jobs for Americans, maybe at USAID or AIPAC. How much do they pay now?

Historically, California was full of Mexicans because they were there even before white people stole their land. Historically and in the present, immigrants go to California and Arizona because it's closer to Mexico than mid and east coast states.

I am very well travelled and I can say this: it-depends-on-where-you-go. Because around my parts whites still dominate construction, even though there are some immigrants, which has been that way since I was a youngster. Do you want a solution for California? Give it back [let them secede]. And then Pedro can visit his cousin Julio whenever he wants without neb-nose democrats republicans worrying about "invading".

This whole immigrant/invaders crap is just that; CRAP. It was all manufactured by the government and technocrats in order to roll out their "solutions".

The only debate/honest solution that I care about is getting government completely out of the immigration business and let folks [no matter where they hail] decide where they want to go and what they want do on-their-own-dime [self-determination], not the tax payer. Bullshit. California was first populated by native Americans that were not associated with the peoples south of what is now the border. Then there were Spaniards/Missions, Russians, and various other Europeans came. They mixed.

Sparse Spanish military left after Mexico became independent, with even sparser Mexican representation for about a decade.

But hey, if you believe land belongs to whatever Empire claims the territory, good for you.
