Greetings.

I've often posited the thought, "If RP's free-market thoughts are so beneficial to corporations why do they not flood him with donations?".

I was responded to with a link to:
http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/industries.php?cycle=2012&cid=n00005906&type=I
Showing all the industries that donate (individually) to RP. This was supposed to be some sort of evidence that RP does indeed get donations from big business.

RP is sitting at about 95% individual donations, 5% "other" (no idea what that is).

From there I wandered over to Romney's.

From here you can see he does indeed receive a LOT of money from corporations we'd expect (financial sector for example).

However, his individual donations is at 99% (4% above RP's). I don't understand this, wouldn't it all come from PAC's at those businesses?

After that I went over to Obama's

Similar story. Industries and corporations we'd expect. His individual donations are 74%. This makes a little more sense.

I was also shown this:

Although the amount he received is honestly laughable compared to the millions others receive. Still, it should be looked at.

Help me make sense of this all. My main defense of Paul would assume that those were individuals that donated, not the company. However, in that case Romney does better then Paul. This simply doesn't make sense because Romney's grassroots presence is almost nonexistent.

You'll have to get someone who knows the ins and outs.

All I do know, is that Ron averages far more individual donations than the other candidates. I think during Q3, Rick Perry had 30,000 donors (and like $15 million) while Ron had 100,000 donors and something around $10 million, if I remember correctly. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

As far as I know, lobbyists don't have to register when they peek into congresspeoples chambers. It's been said none visit Ron Paul, I believe it..
