UN says Julian Assange has been detained illegally.

Assange entered the embassy voluntarily. He is also free to leave any time he wants.

Julian Assange is also fighting to get his internet back, since it was cut off because he was supposedly affecting the US election. Now that the election is over, there is no reason for his internet to be cut off.

I've been wondering about this today. Is this some ruse to get him to exit the embassy, possibly to be killed on the spot? We all know his life is likely not worth a plugged kopek the moment he steps onto the street.

What I don't understand is this: why doesn't Ecuador give him citizenship and then appoint him to diplomatic staff? Would he not then be immune? Nothing I would like more than to see him wagging his tongue at the low-life Swedes as he sachets down the avenue.

Why can't Assange leave the Ecuadorian embassy?

Assange sought asylum in the embassy in June 2012 following a series of legal challenges through British courts to a European arrest warrant issued by Sweden. He is technically free to leave but says he cannot because he is in breach of a warrant that was granted to extradite him to Sweden, and faces arrest. Assange has not at any point been charged with an offence under Swedish law but was sought for questioning over complaints of sexual assault by two women in 2010. Assange had raised concerns about Swedish demands that he be questioned in person, fearing extradition to the US.

Swedish prosecutor finally agreed to interview Assange in the Embassy and that started today though the process is complicated. She submits her questions and somebody from the Embassy asks them for her.

Three days have been set aside for the interview, which is being conducted by an Ecuadorian prosecutor, following a list of questions submitted earlier this year by the Swedish prosecution authority.

Isgren is allowed to ask Assange to clarify his answers, but not to put additional questions, and will receive a written transcript of the exchanges from Ecuador after the interview has concluded. Her office has said it will seek to take a DNA sample from Assange if he agrees.

Prosecutors finally agreed to questioning in London after coming under increased pressure in Sweden to move the case forward. In November 2014, Sweden’s appeal court rejected Assange’s appeal against the warrant but criticised the country’s chief prosecutor, Marianne Ny, over her failure to examine alternative avenues of investigation.

The court upheld the warrant again upheld in September this year. In February, a UN panel said Assange’s continued presence at the embassy amounted to “arbitrary detention”.

An investigation into separate sexual assault allegations a second Swedish woman made against Assange had to be dropped last year after the deadline to bring charges expired.

His real fear is the risk of extradition to the US- not the Swedish case.

Or you can just watch the video in the OP, instead of Zippy's MSM bullshit.
Luke Rudowski delivers truth way better than any MSM clowns.

Assange entered the embassy voluntarily. He is also free to leave any time he wants.

So he is free to be physically abducted, kidnapped and extradited to a foreign country, imprisoned and given the Manning treatment.
That's some concept of "freedom" you have there Zip.
He is not free to go fly home, build a family, go to the park, eat at a restaurant, drive a car, or simply live his life.
