Uh, oh! Ratings last night will likely be the lowest so far.. From politico..BLOWBACK

lol.. and I found out this morning what Periscope is mostly used for..

Should have known when I figured out the 'heart' thingy...

If you're married or have a gf, you might wanna turn of the push notifications :D

chuckle - this is so great.

Conventional wisdom would say - narrow the field, increase the interest. More time for each candidate, more depth of discussion, getting closer to decision-making time, etc.

What happened instead? People didn't tune in because the guy they wanted to see - Rand - wasn't there. Period, end of story.

#RandRally FTW.

Iowa could end this race. End it. #StandWithRand!

Those who chide Rand for boycotting it should take note of this tidbit about the undercard debate..

........
........
"The "undercard" at 6 p.m. averaged a 1.5 household rating, according to Nielsen's overnight data, which is dramatically lower than the 3.5 rating for Fox Business's November "undercard."

I just posted this on the FOX Business Facebook page:

According to Politico, last night's FOX Business debate is poised to be the lowest rated so far. Maybe that will teach your network a little something about being honest and fair in upcoming debates by not ejecting candidates like Rand Paul, who met the criteria of the top tier. All of us boycotting last night's debate enjoyed Rand's Town Hall instead. Not only did your ratings crash last night, but you lost a large number of FOX every day viewers, such as myself. FOX will never regain my trust.

I think it is more likely that the drop is because of less interest and people getting bored of the campaign cycle. Still it is good new for us, others are losing interest just as Randals supporters are getting pumped up the most.

Well it doesn't hurt to spin it the way we want it. As far as I'm concerned, it's because Rand was absent.

I know that feels good, but will agitating them further accomplish anything? I feel like Fox Business and Fox News still has something we need- airtime. I think you're just rubbing it in, and they already know the results of their decision.

I'm not so sure. They are in the business of ratings. Within an hour of Rand being excluded from the debate, there were almost 3,000 negative comments on their FB page. Now after the debate, there are numerous postings also. They had a bad ratings night, compared to previous debates, and they need to understand why.

The Iowa caucus is in two weeks so these ratings are pretty embarrassing. Just 2.2 million turned in for the undercard, so Rand's boycott unquestionably got him more attention than just taking the piddling of free media like Santorum and Huckabee. I think today the top tier in Iowa is pretty clearly Trump/Cruz, with Rubio/Carson/Paul being the dark horses. Like every year in Iowa, the Christie/Bush/Fiorina/Kasich are going to disappear come caucus day, and it looks like the crowd that elevated Santorum and Huckabee in past years aren't interested in a retread.

Ah, the sweet smell of a victory over the media and a vindication of a strategy. Regardless of whether we win, place or show in Iowa, we did far better by sticking it to Fox rather than taking the excrement sandwich they tried to force-feed us.
