Trying to convince my wife

Just tell your wife Fred Thompson is dropping out. He already pulled out of the Florida debate and will make his announcement before then.

This is funny since you're the same guy that was harping about how none of us should be concerned with voter fraud in NH. You should take your own advice.

I never said no one should be concerned with voter fraud. I said the campaign should have nothing to do with it as it makes us look like a fringe canidate.

I was all for an independent recount. How did it turn out anyway?

Human rights > Animal Rights

Vote for Ron Paul and a lot less people will be killed.

I overheard someone asking him about it after a speech. It didn't sound like he had a strong stance on it one way or the other, but he did say that animals shouldn't be mistreated.

I would honestly tell her that if that is one of her top issues (which is completely her right!), and she wants someone who is going to spend a lot of time promoting animal rights, then Ron Paul is probably not her guy.

Sorry I don't have more specific info :(

I'm sorry to say, but as I think about it, animal rights are just too left wing for this movement.

I can't even begin to think of a way to spin this to your wife, that while one state could outlaw any form of animal cruelty, another could fully decriminalize animal kicking day.

Animal 'rights' just aren't part of the founding documents. If you'd like to make them as such, an amendment would be needed. However, this would be very left wing as it wreaks of government activism. I'm not sure there's a magic answer that would convince your wife that Ron Paul is all for animal rights. My guess is, he doesn't see them as created equal with humans. He is a Christian, and the Bible gives humanity dominion over the animals.

Sorry.

On the bright side, I could never see Dr. Paul harming an animal or advocating that someone do harm an animal. He's very kind, from what I can tell.

I'm really amazed at some of the responses here.

It's really simple.

It's not about Left or Right, it's about Constitutional or non-Constitutional as any FEDERAL election should (primarily) be about.

I love animals as much as the next person (owned many cats over the years) but if I wanted Washington getting involved in how I treat or mistreat animals then I'd be voting for one of the communist (Democratic) canidates.

It's a states issues period. end. finito. Don't think so? Then like I said, take your pick of any BIG Government canidate and I'm sure they'll promise to protect all the kittens in the world for you yet not lift a finger to actually make good on it.

Many people that have posted on this thread make me flat out sick! No wonder why we get so much flack!
