My father-in-law loves Rick Perry so I told him a few things.

1. Me: Rick Perry was a democrat. In fact, he support Al Gore in 1988. So I think he's a RINO and can't be trusted.
Him: Well, you know, Reagan started out as a democrat but over the years he learned better and became a true republican.

2. Me: Rick Perry tried to force young girls to take the Gardasil vaccine.
Him: Well, kids already have to take vaccines before they can start school. It's for their own safety.

3. Me: Rick Perry supported the trans-Texas corridor.
Him: Well, the people didn't like it so he let them vote on it and they said no so it's not happening. He's fair and let's the people decide on things like that.

Umm... help me.

What about him does your father, like?

Frankly, I am floored about your father's stance on gardasil. What is his definition of a "true republican"? If he calls himself a conservative, then no true conservative would EVER say say that parents should be overruled by the government as to whether their 6th grade little girl should receive a questionable injection that was brand spanking new. Texans were outraged and sued!! Your father needs to understand that this was all about money. Mandating this shot for little girls was to be very profitable for Merck and Perry had Merck all over his office. Can anyone say KICKBACK? This is exactly the same meme replayed with Cintra when Perry pushed the toll roads that are all over the place now. A certain Cintra lobbyist went between working for Cintra, working for Perry and back again to Cintra. He has now started one of Perry's SuperPACs.

Perry is as dirty as dirty can be and is a liar to the nth degree.

If health care is the responsibility of the government, why not just support Obama?

Rick Perry went around the Texas legislature to institute a law requiring mandatory Gardasil shots for girls ages 11 to 12. Merck is the manufacturer of the vaccine who through it's PAC donated $6,000 to Rick Perry's reelection campaign. Rick Perry's former chief of staff is now a lobbyist for Merck.

Gardasil is now know to cause death in some cases.

Tell your father-in-law he supports the murder of innocent young girls so that a politician can make a little money for his reelection campaigns.

Ask him if he knows what Rick Perry's views are on Iraq and Afghanistan. Ask him what Perry thinks of the Federal Reserve. If he can't answer those questions, ask how he can support someone without knowing where they stand on those important issues.

Texas Governor Rick Perry isn't what he seems, for though he promotes himself as a conservative, he is anything but.

Ask him if attempted murder is an nonpunishable crime and indicates nothing about the character of the person who did it if the victim lives

Just have him do a search about the Bilderberg Group and their secret meetings for one world government, inter alia. Perry is one of them.... sort of like the Stepford Wives.

1. In 1988, Perry not only "supported" ALGore, he ran his Texas campaign! The very next year, 1989, he met Karl Rove and became a Republican. The support for ALGore was not minor support, and the changeover to GOP was anything but gradual. He's a political opportunist hack.

don't try to attack, get him to talk. ask him what Rick Perry's positions are? Ask him what he thinks about his tax plan or spending plan? Medicare, social security?
Ask him WHY he likes Rick Perry? Make him sound like he doesn't know what he is talking about. Get him talking and he will mess about people he probably knows nothing about Perry except his nice looking hair.

Tell your father that Merck was the only company that made that vaccine and that Perry's son worked for them. Also his former Chief of Staff had become a lobbyist for Merck!

Perry also squiggled around the anti-TSA Groping bill that so many Texans were in favor of. I think he conveniently let the time expire on it, after dragging his feet, and being FOR it before he was AGAINST it, and then FOR it. Lots of pissed Texans.

This vaccine was for a sexually transmitted disease and he mandated - by executive order - that all girls 6th grade and up must take it. Furthermore Merk hired Perry's former chief of staff Mike Toomey, as a lobbyist, then had him lobby on their behalf. Also Merk donated to Perry's campaign.

Rick Perry's Ties With Merck Run Deep AUSTIN (AP) -- Gov. Rick Perry ordered Friday that schoolgirls in Texas must be vaccinated against the sexually transmitted virus that causes cervical cancer, making Texas the first state to require the shots.

Don't forget to tell him that Scary Perry supported TARP and even penned a letter saying so.

Of course he was FOR it until he was AGAINST it.

I think a lot of religious conservatives were up in arms about the whole thing, too. Prolly Tea Party folks. The idea that Perry is Tea Party is about as laughable as the idea that he is Anti-Establishment. Both are being pushed. WOW. He's definitely got the big money behind him. Nothing that TRUTH can't conquer.

Here's a link to a website that gives 14 points on why Rick Perry would make a bad president.
http://endoftheamericandream.com/ar...-perry-would-be-a-really-really-bad-president

I will just outline a couple of important points that might be more important to conservatives.
#1 Rick Perry is a "big government" politician. When Rick Perry became the governor of Texas in 2000, the total spending by the Texas state government was approximately $49 billion. Ten years later it was approximately $90 billion. That is not exactly reducing the size of government.
#2 The debt of the state of Texas is out of control. According to usdebtclock.org, the debt to GDP ratio in Texas is 22.9% and the debt per citizen is $10,645. In California (a total financial basket case), the debt to GDP ratio is just 18.7% and the debt per citizen is only $9932. If Rick Perry runs for president these are numbers he will want to keep well hidden.
#3 The total debt of the Texas government has more than doubled since Rick Perry became governor. So what would the U.S. national debt look like after four (or eight) years of Rick Perry?
#5 Rick Perry claims that he has a "track record" of not raising taxes. That is a false claim. Rick Perry has repeatedly raised taxes and fees while he has been governor. Today, Texans are faced with significantly higher taxes and fees than they were before Rick Perry was elected.
#7 Back in 1988, Rick Perry supported Al Gore for president. In fact, Rick Perry actually served as Al Gore's campaign chairman in the state of Texas that year.

#12 Rick Perry often gives speeches about illegal immigration, but when you look at the facts, he has been incredibly soft on the issue. If Rick Perry does not plan to secure the border, then he should not be president because illegal immigration is absolutely devastating many areas of the southwest United States.
