Truth Bomb Day: What Lie do We Attack?

What misconception should we attack?

  • The unemployment rate is approx. 8%

    Votes: 16 38.1%
  • Only one of the major party candidates could be elected president

    Votes: 13 31.0%
  • Something else and I'll tell you why

    Votes: 9 21.4%
  • None of the above--Truth Bomb Days are a dumb idea

    Votes: 4 9.5%

  • Total voters
    42
  • Poll closed .
Something that will turn people's attention away form the President. Like "The President can't in any meaningful way create jobs, control gas prices, repeal laws, coin money, etc."

Obviously the goal would be to focus on the Congress.

The president can, however, issue signing statements and give orders that some laws not be enforced, he can repeal regulations - and I think you might be wrong that he can't repeal laws... not sure. He can veto legislation and he can introduce his own legislation into congress.

We would have to figure out who the good and bad guys are and target it differently in every state. We don't have time for that before the election.

Supporting liberty candidates in a few states, sure, as a sub project.

sailingaway proposed "Black This Out" as the theme instead of truth bomb. i agree

I think a semi-scripted well-articulted "sock puppet" conversation between two or more RPF members at other forums, with a RPF hot topics thread as editing ground, would be a good way to attack. I also think it would be easy through strategic planning to dominate the "top threads" for a few key days or weeks at a site like abovetopsecret.com , democraticunderground.com , gaiaonline.com, AR15.com, or theologyonline.com through coordinated interaction. Focus on attacking and temporarily dominating message boards with 100k members or more. And then rubber stamp the conversations from platinum message board to platinum message board, modified as needed to fit the audience.

How about, "If you haven't called your Congressman or Senator in the last month, you are now ineligible to vote." We can contact Thiel, and run this the week before on every single network...constantly.
THEN, at the same time...we run, "There will be a 48 hour HoneyBooBoo, American Idol, and NFL show marathon from November 5-7. You think we could pull it off?

Talk radio ads will be nothing but, "You're not eligible to vote, watch American Idol instead."
"Bummed about not voting? Don't be! Celebrate by watching the NFL marathon!"

If we address the unemployment rate, that would most likely help Romney pick up votes if this gets a decent audience...just saying.

Discussing the unemployment rate is basically spreading Romney's message for him. I'd argue for "Black This Out" as the overall name, and "there are more than 2 valid choices". I don't think it should be phrased as "could be elected President". A protest vote against the 2 very similar choices we have is a perfectly valid choices.

I don't think the "election is cancelled" idea will work. But we could discuss ideas.

If the guy you vote for wins, and sucks as President, it's YOUR FAULT.

If you wanted to run 30 second ads with a little child watching a war on tv

"did you vote for the President mommy?"

"what have I done?"

Drive home "your fault".

You don't have to vote for someone who clearly sucks.

Another ad.

Picture of Romney - slam down a red stencil font diagonal - SUCKS.
Picture of Obama - SUCKS

You Don't Have To Vote For Someone Who Clearly Sucks.

These people are also running.

If you vote for one of them, it won't be your fault if they suck as President. You didn't vote for em.

And some Conservatives are writing in Ron Paul (optional).

supporting liberty candidates is something that other people are doing, doing a good job with, hooray for them, but it isn't this project.

The not voting thing was semi-joking...I think it would probably help Romney out more than Obama, if somebody did that.
As for the comparison, both are bad...

I think we need to show them as both the same, on EVERYTHING...but in short clips. One topic at a time, and we don't reference RP at the end...since that ship has sailed. Any thoughts on that type of video?

I was watching HBO, and they had a Bill Mahar ad. Bill Mahar was saying that if you can't decide between Obama and Romney you shouldn't be voting.

The last year "Black This Out" was about media bias against Ron Paul.

Here, it's media bias against all 3rd parties.

I'm ok with just saying vote for other, vote the vote your conscience can live with, write in or third party, but if we start specifying others I'd want Ron there, personally

I say we continue our good progress on audit the fed and attack the beast itself again and again. Plenty of truth bombs to be dropped relating to the Federal Reserve. If we kill that beast all the other pieces will fall into place much easier.

There is a call your Senator bomb planned for November 13 when they get back in session, maybe we can do something around that.

WAR ROOM!: Who's in?

When can we get that sub forum?

What skills do people have here? We need:
Programmers
Web developers
Webmasters
People that can put together YouTubes
Someone that can master an audio CD
Artists
Graphic Artists

For starters...

We need to swell our ranks and possibly build coalitions. That means finding and connecting with former supporters that have drifted away or in their own "compartment" - say a Meetup and outside the communication stream.

The best way to do this is set up a survey monkey and then spread the word by contacting every RP supporter we can find and direct them toward that survey.

Something we did before was called "Cat Wrangler". We got Volunteers and directed them to a web site. They would be given 3 Meetup Groups each to contact and report back on if they were able to do that. Defunct group, private group, post successful. I've contacted the person that did the tech on that and asked him if he was willing to do that again. If not, any programmers here willing to implement that kind of a system? It can be used to post to Facebook, Yahoo, tweet, letters to the editor, etc.

As to coalitions - maybe reach out to Daily Koas, the 420 folks, Anonymous, the LP, Naders people, etc, etc, etc.

thoughts?

I don't 100% understand cat wrangler but it sounds kind of like what we did notifying meetups and if so, I'm up for that.

I'm for building coalitions...where are we directing them to?
I want to start now.

Are we creating a "WAR ROOM" that we can direct people to?
