Trump's lacking organization in Iowa!

We cannot continue to pretend like a popular vote win doesn't matter. I guess we haven't learned jack from the last two times.

Very true, some just don't get how the system works in reality.

Organization in Iowa only matters to a small degree. What matters most is how the media reports you and how those audiences perceive you.

I'm confused about this talk of delegates. Didn't the RNC pass a rule that all the states have to provide delegates in proportion to the candidates' shares of votes in the straw poll, and the delegates have to vote according to that at the convention?

3/15/2016 or later they can be winner-take-all. Before that, they can be proportional, but can set a minimum threshold (usually between 5-20%) for allocation. Some states have rules like this:
Illinois Primary (69) — Statewide delegates are winner take all, congressional district delegates elected directly on ballot and bound as they declare

Precisely. I've been called a downer here since joining. But I'm just very disappointed that many supporters are unwilling to understand the communication side of things (well, it's good thing I've started studying communication science since joining, huh?) How does [X] translate to audience perception through [Y].

Y = either every direct or indirect media message

Getting a decent number of delegates early on in the race is great and all, but no media outlet will report on that. None. And so, it will come to a standstill as an establishment pick who won a lot of the popular vote in Iowa, NH and SC early on.

If Rand ends up third on either of the first two primaries, it will be a reported as a 'strong showing for Rand, but his ceiling, like his father before him. His unorthdox ideas cannot win him the presidency'.

A first or second in either Iowa or NH and third in SC is acceptable, but that's it.

If you can't force the media te report that you've "won" (in their eyes) Iowa or NH through popular vote, you didn't win.

So if people don't show up and vote for Donald Trump because they are too lazy and also because of Donald's poor organization the media will report that he won?

Rand must appeal to all Americans.

He needsto get on his topics of freedom and liberty. This is when he gets pumped up and gets that red blooded American look. He speaks with power on these subjects. I belive if people watched his speechs on Capitol Hill they would have a much better view of him.

He's a great speaker given the chance. The drama of the other candidates takes away his opportunity.

He need to get up there in the next one and talk like he's doing a filibuster!!!

America's still have it deep inside them, he needs to tap into the red blooded Americans that didn't know they had it in them.
