Trump's auto tariffs will hit many companies, but Elon Musk's Tesla less so

You are dodging the logical argument and resorting to an appeal to authority.

Ron isn't in a position of authority and I've ripped every allegedly logical argument I've seen in this thread to shreds -- or to put it another way, I'm still waiting for a logical argument not based on false history and fearmongering over things that couldn't possibly happen.

Oren Cass - Understanding Trump Tariffs Through the Lens of “The New Conservatives” | The Daily Show

Are we supposed to want to see propagandist, historical and economic moron, and abject power worshipper Jon Stewart trying to move the Overton Window to the left?

"See? Now even "conservatives" think a few connected and corrupt elites in an ivory tower know better what's going on down on the ground than the people whose boots are right there!" No, I don't see any sign that's true. I see a nation that traded one fat batch of corruption for another.

That's rich coming from the side that wants us to ignore the deindustrialization of America and the destruction of the middle and working classes because their Ivory Tower "Experts" preach a dogma of free trade.

That's coming from an idiot who doesn't understand why that has been happening and is bound and determined to implement "cures" that make it worse.

We may not have Kamala to scorn when she laughs to cover up that she has absolutely nothing intelligent to day, but we still have you.

I laugh when your argument is so pathetic that it doesn't need a response.
That's why I laugh so often.

Your criteria for a "pathetic argument" is something you don't recognize because Zerohedge didn't train you how to respond to it. That's why you hate libertarians. We can understand and evaluate an argument, so when you make excuses we know how stupid they are.

Jon Stewart historically on his hit cable show pointed out probably the biggest political black out of modern history the one of Ron Paul's 2012 presidential campaign and that's how it became popular.

At the time websites would censor anything about Ron Paul and the mainstream media would skip over his campaign when talking about the election.

I think he debated the author very fairly on an idea that similarly gets blacked out almost everywhere else.

In the 19th century we had tarrifs and we didn't need an income tax.

We removed some tarrifs but kept some of them and then added a narrow income tax to replace it

Even when we added that income tax it didnt apply to 99% of people.

We started removing all tarrifs and then added more massive income taxes to replace it.

Oh? So, when Chrysler destroyed 90% of the turbine cars it built for its 1963 public test because it couldn't afford to pay the tariffs to keep their Ghia coachwork intact, the income tax had not already been over 80% for the highest brackets in 1936?

You're making shit up as usual, Knickerbot. There are no replacement taxes, only new taxes.

That wasn't made up. There were no income taxes prior to the 20th century.

The idea was only even considered because the government removed tarrifs in exchange for adding an income tax that didn't apply to 99% of the country.

Trumps auto tariffs are essentially ESG. Of course, the republican-worded spin is leftist in disguise.

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals are often marketed as financially beneficial, but in reality, they have proven to be ineffective investment strategies.

Absolutely false.
What they are is nationalist and anti-globalist.

Not it's not. It's not any different. It's protectionism. Look it up.

I don't like nationalists, and I'm not anti-globalist when it comes to trade. My objection is to "globalist governance", which you promote.

It is absolutely different, there is no valid reason to discriminate between citizens on race etc., there are very valid reasons for survival, independence, and liberty to discriminate against foreigners in foreign lands.

And you are the one pursuing global governance by trying to eliminate national borders and drag everyone down to the lowest common denominator.
