"He had more leverage by not vetoing the others which also would have been overridden."

Excuses are legendary.

I'd rather hear your excuses for DeSantis and his Bush wing buddies.

The fact that someone can come back from bankruptcy multiple times is actually more impressive.

People don't understand bankruptcy. People point and laugh and say, 'Look how bad that guy was with money!!!" Yeah, okay, but who loaned it to them?

We need more bankruptcy filings given how much bad debt exists. It's not like it's totally harmless to the person filing. You don't just say, "I'm sorry I can't pay" and walk away like nothing ever happened. Your credit score gets demolished. It's much harder to get loans in the future. People just generally don't want to do business with you.

But it's the way to liquidate bad debt.

The whole reason they won't let people file bankruptcy on their student loans is because it would be more harmful for the banks than the graduates. Traditional college-age graduates have their whole lives to pick up an actually-useful trade and make a decent living, but it would ruin the big banks.

What percentage of businesses go bankrupt?

What percentage of Trump's businesses went bankrupt?

Something like 2-4% of Trump's businesses went bankrupt, and nearly half of all businesses go bankrupt.

i dunno Danno but these are the only choices on the menu

everything else is out of stock. sry.

don't have to answer now
500 day setting

Both say great things now. Both have checkered pasts. I gave up predicting back in 2008. I helped with the satirical Fred Thompson forum. He was the front runner. We made forums for other candidates but didn't for John McCain until the end because we thought that there was no way in hell that he'd win the primary. Then he did. Then in 2012 no one thought Romney would get it. Depending who the MSM and the "alternative media" promotes at the end, that's who will get it. For all we know AOC will get the Republican nomination (or more realistically, Tulsi Gabbard.)

Pick? I didn't even click to see what Ron you were referring to.

There is a Ron I would vote for, even if he does think he's too old. But I feel sure this poll refers to the wrong one.

I guess it really just depends on how close we are to nuclear annihilation next year. Trump's restraint has been tested, there's evidence that he can tell his generals 'no war today' (and they hate him for it), DeSantis on the other hand . . .

Feels like we're pretty close now, though, with the fools they installed, so maybe it'll be a moot point next year. I do think that, regardless, if the democrats think they'll lose, they're going to provoke Russia more than Obama did in the interim between the 2016 election and inauguration day 2017. Probably try to spark off a war and let it land in whomever's lap that follows.

Getting painfully obvious that Russia is winning & Ukraine is just being held up by US Taxdollars

Biden admin is crafty in their own way, wouldn't be surprised if tensions between Russia & US loosen up & they move unto bigger newer war business in Pacific

Of course DeSantis is going to run. The GOP has no choice but to force him to, otherwise Trump is running unopposed with no competition.

I think DeSantis is hedging to see if Trump is indicted and/or disqualified. That would be my move. Trump already has declared opponents.

DeSantis is 100% running, individuals on this site need to sharpen up & accept reality

Every politician from a Board of Education to Governor has an eye on running for president. It's only the lack of popularity that stops someone. Desantis has the the popularity. You're exactly right. Of course he's running.

He's being smart and waiting. If/when Trump is indicted or disqualified DeSantis gets in the race and gets all Trump's support and cruises to an easy win. If not DeSantis is the annointed one next cycle. Why run against Trump and risk pissing off potential support. That would be my play here. Ron DeSantis will be the GOP nominee for president, it's just a question of now or next time.

I don't understand how Don could survive a single debate where literally anyone says
"You promised to drain the swamp three years before the swamp launched a global pandemic and then cheated you out of a second term"

But then again if there's one thing I've learned in the last three years it's that I'm surrounded by morons who lack the two brain cells necessary to understand that.
