Trump vs. DeSantis

You only have 2 choices. Pick.

  • Don

    Votes: 14 56.0%
  • Ron

    Votes: 11 44.0%

  • Total voters
    25
  • Poll closed .
DeSantis announces he is running for President (basically):

.@CaseyDeSantis and I want to wish our Jewish friends in Florida, across America, and around the world a Happy Passover. The retelling of the history of the Exodus at the Seder table this evening ends with the words Next Year in Jerusalem, and I look forward to visiting Israel later this month.

While it is still unknown if Biden will run for another term or when he will announce his decision, the president is trailing his predecessor in the poll by the largest amount to date. In the hypothetical showdown between the two, Trump leads 47 to 40 percent of likely voters, with 11 percent saying someone else and two percent not sure.
.
.
.
The poll further found that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), a likely 2024 presidential candidate, also led Biden in a hypothetical matchup. The potential 2024 opponent led Biden 46 percent to 38 percent, while another 12 percent said someone else and four percent was unsure.

So Trump is leading Biden by 7 and DeSantis is leading Biden by 8. The difference between the advantage each has over Biden is within the margin of error.

I also saw this:

The poll found a significant difference in support between Trump and DeSantis when up against Biden. The poll indicated an “Only Trump” fraction of the Republican voters, as ten percent of the respondents preferred someone else if DeSantis was the nominee in 2024 compared to only five percent who wanted someone else if Trump was the nominee in 2024.

Somehow I don't see Trump voters not backing Desantis and letting Biden get a second term but anything is possible. That said, if they can be "principled" for someone who's not....well I can be principled for someone who is.

Trump and DeSantis are on the same team.

No fighting, boys.

DeSantis is the backup, just in case the Dems manage to convict Trump, which CAN happen.
Never underestimate the level of CORRUPTION in this country. It's SICK.

For what it's worth (not much) I'd still be happy with either Trump or DeSantis. I'd prefer Trump for the foreign policy (think he'd be more likely to sit down face-to-face with Putin and hammer out a solution that doesn't involve lobbing nukes, DeSantis being the wild-card here because he's never been tested when the war hawks are clamoring around him). I think DeSantis was better on the vaccines (maybe not initially, but unless Trump recants his unquestioning support for the vaccines, he lags behind DeSantis who has adopted the position that vaccine-injured should be able to sue).

EDIT: I'd be even happier if someone more like Rand or Massie joins the race (*AND* has the intent to see it through until primary election day, which we have not seen since Ron Paul, like if you're not going to wait until the last primary ballot gets casted, don't waste time; Georgia is so f*cking late with our primaries that half the people i'd prefer always drop out before I get a chance to vote for them)

Not voting != inaction. And "strategic voting" (voting for someone just because you think they'll win) is usually counter productive. Look at the poll @Anti Federalist just posted. As of right now, Desantis is better poised to be Biden then Trump. Now polls aren't perfect and polls can change. But there is no reason whatsoever to be locking in on voting for Trump.
That's a joke.
DS hasn't a prayer and they are pumping him up because Trump is the one they don't want.
That's enough reason to vote for Trump.

How is the left beating the right at the moment? It's not by voting. They're winning by culture. Everyone knows who David Hogg and Greta Thunberg are. They offer nothing of substance just their emotional arguments for their pet causes. But they've got a platform. Trying to convince the dwindling number of people that daily sign in to this website to throw their support behind Trump when the primaries haven't even started yet does absolutely nothing to advance the cause of liberty. Absolutely nothing.
Trump is our greatest weapon in the war for the culture, and if you think the primary season isn't already upon us you don't understand politics.

You're a joke. Beating Biden doesn't require Trump. In fact Trump was a liability in 2020. I know you can't admit this and you want to put this all on "they cheated", and they most likely did. But Trump screwed himself by going along with Dr. Fauci. And I think he did that on purpose. Yes. The conspiracy theory nobody wants to talk about is that there is absolutely no freaking reason whatsoever for the Jesuit Facui to have been point person on COVID. Trump also let Fauci restart gain of function research at Wuhan. Obama had stopped it. I know the Trump humpers go with the "Well it was still going on clandestinely" fantasy, but even that slowed the process down. Trump himself said he knew it was going to be worse than he let on! And he told that in an interview to a journalist! Almost like he didn't want to win. And Fauci knew and Fauci also said COVID wasn't going to be that bad. They both knew and they both lied. But Fauci was set up to be the hero and Trump was set up to be the fall guy. When the data came back that sunlight kills the virus, Trump sabotaged the press conference!! That data was important because Fauci had recommended closing the beaches and parks and everybody stay inside where air conditioning was spreading the virus and out of the sun that could have killed it. Fauci had specifically said "We don't know if summer will slow it down because we don't know if heat kills the virus." That, of course, was complete BS and that BS cost lives. The data that sunlight kills the virus countered Fauci. But rather than let that data sink in, Trump started talking about sunlight inside the body (and yes dannno I know people researched that but people research all sorts of stupid things that never pan out including perpetual motion machines), and to put the olive on top of this shyt sandwich Trump talked about how disinfectant kills the virus and maybe it could be injected! And yes, I've watched the video of Trump saying this repeatedly and that's what he said! I know his supporters don't want to admit this and pretend that all he was light inside the body which is stupid but at least defensible. But a disinfectant injection would be deadly. And again the real point of that press conference should have been that sunlight kills the virus and thus locking down beaches and parks is stupid! I've also watched the video repeatedly where Dr. Fauci, after throwing Trump under the bus on Jake Tapper by agreeing that lives could have been saved sooner but there was "push back", come out and say that Trump did everything Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx told him to as soon as the told him to! Don't like the lockdowns? Blame Trump. Don't like the mask mandates? Blame Trump. Don't like a vaccine being brought to market without being fully tested? Trump still brags about his role in Operation Warp Speed! So yes. Blame Trump. And I don't want to hear "But Trump didn't do the vaccine mandates.' That's because he wasn't around to do them! And yes, once out of office it was easy as hell for him to claim "Well I would not have done X." But here's the kicker. Trump had an ace up his sleeve to beat Dr. Fauci and he didn't play it! I just recently found out that Dr. Redfield, head of the CDC under Trump, was opposing Fauci all along! Why the hell am I just now hearing about Dr. Redfield? It should have been Dr. Redfield at those press conferences either instead of Dr. Fauci or at least with Dr. Fauci! Dr. Redfield is a virologist and that means he has higher scientific credentials than Fauci on a viral pandemic! We were given a false choice between Dr. Fauci the scientist and Trump the buffoon and that was done on purpose and Trump was in on it.

Trump is our greatest weapon in the war for the culture, and if you think the primary season isn't already upon us you don't understand politics.

 Yeah. Because paying hush money to a porn star and saying that being able to go into the dressing rooms of teen beauty stars and being on video bragging about "grab em by the p*ssy" and writing a book bragging about having affairs with married women makes you the fountain of moral virtue.

"Trump sabotaged the press conference!!"

That he did. Intentional are not, it was a major distraction when narrative of covid had a chance to positively change.

Watched the whole thing & was excited to hear some good news about killing this virus & then Trump F*d all positivity up & made the circus roar to life on trivial matters

...then Trump F*d all positivity up & made the circus roar to life on trivial matters

I saw that happen several times, and always something good went by the wayside. But I haven't seen much evidence that Trump supporters value positivity, so it's no wonder they didn't have eyes to see such things.

Beating the cabal does, that's why they are trying so hard to destroy him.

But of course! It's all so logical! No one on earth could possibly tear down the status quo from inside the White House other than the guy who already had that chance, and used it to either hire and give power to, or protect and preserve in power, Sessions, Bolton, Fauci...

When are you going to get it through your head that we believe what we see, not your defective, lying eyes? We don't know what you're looking at, but...

I don't take advice from the blind.

LOL
That's a Scottish rebel in a French uniform.

It's from a movie about that character trying to restore the Stuart dynasty to the british throne, and that character shares the King's name. Regardless of the origin of the uniform, it's british and the actor is british also. Curious how you chose an avatar so thoroughly british....

And you can prattle about different legal systems all you want, but the simple fact of life is that inaction is consent.
Not voting will not change a thing, the cabal that has seized control of our nation is not going to wake up the day after the election and say "only 10% of the public bothered to vote, I guess we all have to resign", they will instead celebrate that their rule is unchallenged and double down on tyranny.

If only 10% voted (which would mean their enforcers likely aren't even voting), that means people stopped caring about, and therefore following, their edicts. They become a bunch of people sitting in offices that no one cares about. It's that simple. It's an illusion of power simply because consent is voluntarily given by the masses to participate in the illusion.

It makes one wonder why you want all the liberty lovers here taken out of the voting equation.

It clearly has no effect, whether it's a D or R behind the name and the agenda marches on regardless of which puppet is voted for. We go through this same song and dance every election. The D and R candidates, at least, are engineered into position by intel ops, which are formulated by think tanks, and disseminated via the mockingbird mass media (and most "alternative" media also). Stop voting for them, stop paying attention to the election media circus that engineers the consent to the illusion.

Now we know who he really is. Zippysmyth.

At least Zippy didn't pretend to be libertarian or conservative and I actually learned a good bit from dueling with Zippy in the econ subforum. Swordy, OTOH, has been LARPing conservative the whole time. I thought it was pretty obvious after a while. At least Zippy was informative and entertaining. Swordy is just boring and repetitive. They do seem to share something of a british nature, though.

No, as long as the enforcers enforce their edicts and accept their paychecks they will continue to rule and thank you for getting people to give up and submit without resistance.
And you won't ever get the turnout down to 10% or even close to that.

It clearly has an effect or they wouldn't bother to cheat so hard.

For anyone interested in Swordy's avatar it's from Kidnapped film, starring Peter Finch. No one picks an avatar for no reason.

The Stuart dynasty had always been Catholic

LOL, I think that you, DEVIL21, doth protest too much.

Isn't it curious how the Pope speaks from the mouth of the serpent? Oh Swordy, my boy, you have so much to learn. [mod edit]

Just like nobody picks a username for no reason, right?

I like the character and have Scottish ancestry, what's your excuse?
