The fact that some of the members of Ron Paul Forums are finding things to complain about is absolutely insane to me. I would have never believed in my lifetime we would see a president actually fulfilling his campaign promises for one, but even more compelling is actually cutting massive portions, as much as he legally can, of massive bureaucracies like the department of education.

This is the type of stuff that drove me to the liberty movement, and we are watching it play out in real time.

Here in AZ we have an ESA program where the parent get to decide where the education dollars go. If you want to spend it at a public school, that's your choice. Want to spend it at a charter school or a Montessori school, that's your choice. Let the public schools compete for customers and the students win.

This is what should happen with those federal dollars. Send the funds to the parents that paid the taxes and let them spend them in the free market of educational choices. The result will be a more robust market with more solutions for children.
