The Daily Caller has learned that despite dropping his name from consideration as a Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump is researching the possibility of running for the White House as an independent.

After the Trump 2012 speculation died down, Trump again raised the specter of a candidacy when he said on “Fox and Friends” that he “can’t rule out anything.”

As we know, there are a lot of so-called "patriot" or "tea party" forums out there and it puzzles me to find so much constitutional ignorance on them. The amount of support for Bachmann and Cain is frightening.

I've been working hard for months at one of them; debating candidates and ideas, the usual. If Paul does not get the nomination, I would hope that he costs the Republicans the election. That way we would be able to run someone in 2016.

If he does run independent, it will only be because Ron Paul got the nomination. If anybody else gets the nomination it won't matter because any and all of them would keep the welfare/warfare state going so it would be no different than having Obama in office. Therefore, no need to have anyone run independent. If Paul wins, they're not gonna just let us have him. They'd rather have Obama, so a third party must run if Paul gets the nomination. They're not gonna just let us have him. They'll pull out all the stops.

According to this article, Trump said that if the Republicans don't nominate a candidate he likes that he just might run.

But Trump has “warned” the voting public that if Republicans do not nominate a candidate he likes, he may just decide to run afterall.

He doesn't like Ron Paul. Therefore, he'll run if Ron Paul gets the nomination.

It's not gonna be as easy as winning the nomination and kicking Obama's behind. If Ron Paul gets the nomination, Donald Trump will be a useful tool to ensure Obama wins. If Trump doesn't do it, someone else will, but I don't think Trump will have any problem being the one to spoil it for Paul.
