Trump: Massie should be primaried for voting no too many times

Perfect is the worst enemy of good. That's what I have learned with national politics atleast. If the president can't do his job because he doesn't get the support he needs then we just end up with someone like Kamala Harris or somebody even worse.
Except in this case it's really bad, like 7 months more at the current spending rate. And that doesn't include off budget spending. I could see if it was for just a couple weeks while they hash it out, but 7 months! Are they trying to hit 40 trillion in debt by the end of the year?

You are still not comparing it to the alternative.

We had the alternative the last 4 years. They didn't cut any spending.

Atleast with Trump you get borders and supreme court judges and tax cuts.

Biden was arguably more moderate than the people they would have replaced him with.

You have to dance with the one that atleast brings good things to the table because the alternative is worse. With the alternative you get nothing.

I checked several of the recent ones, he voted no on all 6 votes in the last 2 years. He "technically" voted yes on HR 1892 but that was before it became a CR, link below:

The above "yes" vote was for Honoring Hometown Heroes Act and the bill was later greatly expanded in purpose to become the 2018 CR because sure that makes sense, lets take a bill for honoring hometown heroes and then amend it to become a gigantic funding monstrosity

He did however vote "no" on HR 1892 itself.

My guess is he's probably voted no on all of the CR's but I only checked recent ones

Confirmed by Massie:

But the election is over and Trump won.

Yeah but if Trump can't govern because he doesn't get any support then in 4 years we get the alternative for dozens or more years.

We had 8 years of Obama and 4 years of Biden in the last few elections.

How does rubber-stamping increases in government spending assure we get a republican in 4 years? I would think it's the opposite.

How is funding a government that cuts taxes and regulations and has borders and nominates supreme court justices that aren't progressive activists not better than the alternative?

There is no better guarantee that we will get the alternative for dozens of years other than not supporting the Republican government by funding it.

After 12 years in office, if he is unable to build a coalition on these issues even within his own party, maybe he's not the best dude for the job and he should step aside? Yeah get rid of him and let someone else try. That's called TERM LIMITS, which Massie says he supports.

I'm simply pointing out that the go it alone strategy hasn't worked either. Give Trump a chance and see what can be accomplished together. We have better people around Trump this time.
I am.

I'm not investing much time or outrage on it, it is what it is.

But I happily threw $50 at Massie's campaign.

Trump's sorely mistaken if he thinks he can successfully primary Massie. Kentucky loves him too much to get rid of him. Democrats didn't even waste their time even giving Massie an opponent these last midterm elections.

Ill predict in a little over 3 yrs from now Massie will still be voting no w/ a dem for president, LOL. Massie is representing Kentuckians .

Trump's going to end up regretting attacking Massie. He should know by now that Massie will always come out unscathed.

Amazing explanation and details from Thomas Massie!

Cool story, yet he couldn't convince a single Republican to vote with him. He complains it doesn't include cuts from DOGE. He should talk to Rand and Elon about the spending rescission strategy and talk with Trump about impoundment strategy. How about repeal the unconstitutional impoundment act? He doesn't talk about any of that because he likes being a grandstander.

I believe Massie. He has earned trust, unlike nearly every other member of govt.

I'm sure other Republicans like MTG or Chip Roy will be lining up momentarily to get the AIPAC/Trump treatment.

And as far as the "Massie is just doing this to spite Trump" troupe, that is nonsense. Massie has been on record since day one saying he would vote against a swamp bill, CR, or omnibus, as far back as when Trump was saying "I don't care" what kind of bill gets passed, one reconciliation or two. That was long before Johnson admitted he would put up (what he is publicly calling) a CR, and then Trump eventually decided to try to force that farce down our throats on behalf of the swamp.

Yeah, I think Massie knows what a rescission is. Here is Massie talking about rescission and how it can be (could have been) implemented as part of the current spending bill. He references March 14th as the date to get this done, so this is prior to today, probably months ago.

Well now because of a stupid protest vote, he is persona non grata. I doubt anyone will want to work with him on that strategy now.

If we could rely on the Congress to cut the government spending that would be a great option.

People vote for their representatives to bring as much money as they can into their state.

They don't vote for them to bring less money into their state 99.9% of the time.

The ones that do are the dumb ones. They sit there going I don't have any money in my state why is my state so poor I know I'm going to vote for my congressman to bring less money into my state.

That's why you need the office of the president to CHECK the power of the Congress. That's what DOGE is doing.
