Trump makes campaign pledge to eliminate fed income tax on tips earned.

Trump never had control of Congress, RINOs like McCain thwarted him at every turn, like with the O'Bummercare repeal.=

Bullsh|t. I recall Trump wanting "Repeal and Replace".

He wrote on Truth Social that he doesn’t want to terminate the ACA, but instead wants to make it "better".

All well and good. But here's the problem:

The platform emphasizes a commitment to protecting Social Security

Those who have paid into it should get everything back, but the the younger generation should be given the option to opt completely out and invest elsewhere, and phase the program completely out over time.

This is how republicans are led by the nostrils, which is why todays republicans are yesterdays democrats. You are a closet democrat, Swordsmyth . Worse, because you support the eradication of Posse Comitatus.

Trump pushed a straight up repeal, it passed the House with his help and failed by one vote in the Senate because of McCain.
His current stance is because so many people have become dependent on it in the years since and it needs to be reformed slowly, he especially can't advocate anything aggressive while running for office.

The proper way to reform SS in not politically possible at this time and it would do nothing but help Kamala for him to discuss it before he gets back in office, that's why you want him to push it now.

You are the closet Democrat, and that's also why you want to expand on Posse Comitatus.
PC is actually unconstitutional according to the recent Supreme Court decision that says Congress can't outlaw core Presidential powers, it was passed in the post reconstruction Era as part of a deal with Democrats who didn't like the US Cavalry stopping the KKK from killing and burning, and you object to the Insurrection Act (which was actually created by the Founders as part of the Constitutional powers of the Executive branch) because you don't want the National Guard stopping the Democrats' current footsoldiers (AntiFa, BLM, Hamas supporters, and Cartel Gangs) from killing and burning.

Because he'd like to hear a politician say what he really intends to do if elected, he's a Democrat? News flash: Democrats can't handle the truth any better than you people can.

This breaks new ground in foolishness. I don't even know where to start, except to say that federal policing is something only a fascist or a communist could find appealing. And that you're lumping LibertyEagle in with when you go looking for bullshit motives to hang on people for opposing that tyranny.

I am of the opinion that isolating the non tax of tips is not fair.
Considering that tips have gone from 10% to 30% or more in my opinion is ludicrous.
My sisters first husband was a professional waiter that made big money way back in the 80's waiting tables. He was a high end waiter.
In my younger days I ate out a lot. I would go to a breakfast place where a good waitress could handle many tables and she made bank. I know first hand from what I gave and what I observed others to give and simply looking at the tables she served.

I am against all income tax!
Why should a person that derives their income from tips be exempt from the extortion those tipping them?
If we are to say it is not income, could it be argued that if you agree to work for $30,000 per year base salary and get a bonus, the bonus is a tip?

I am of the opinion that the cost of dining out has become exorbitant and when I was a kid tips were 10% that evolved to 10-20% with 15 being totally reasonable.
Now tips are expected at self serve take out.

Should a fully self serve establishment with no human interaction, that has a line for tip and receives tips not have to declare that as income?

End all tax!
In my opinion this is like saying black people don't have to pay tax, or white people don't have to pay tax.

Bloated Government at all levels need to go on a starvation diet. Cities, States, and the Federal Government need to stop the avalanche.
Stop pretending you are saving me while squeezing me of everything I have.

If legislation is passed that makes tips nontaxable, and if there is an expectation in the market that this condition will continue long-term, then you will see a lot of creative ways for people to make more of their income via tips, including in jobs that don't traditionally have tips.

Isn't a bonus a tip?
My son got a $42,000 bonus in December.

I assume that there is legislation that defines tips for the purpose of taxing them. And I also assume that people will be able to find a way to shoehorn bonuses into that definition if the financial incentive to do that gets high enough, which not taxing them would accomplish I think.

Obviously bonus is much like a tip. It is above and beyond your salary and not guaranteed. I would say it is a synonym for tip and if not it should be.
Hahaha. Imagine football stars getting a $1 salary and a tip for every catch, block, interception, yard gained,.....
