So what is Trump armed with?
Certainly not with any kind of principles.
Trump's biggest (only ?) weapon seems to be his own narcissism.
He wields it like a club, and it's pretty potent - but like one of those Chinese finger puzzles, if you just lean into it (by stroking his ego, for example) instead of fighting against it, his defenses fall wide open.

Mamdanis posture is one of humility and "subservience", polite speech, hands in front etc.
I think it's more likely that Mamdani is aware of Trump's disposition and how to use that to his advantage.

Socialism in its core is antithetical to "self government" or liberty.
This is the founding principal of our republic that our founders spoke about.
The idea that private property must be secured (from the government) in order to prevent dependence is built into our system.
That dependence creates an effective dictatorship.

I mean, you know that Trump CAMPAIGNED FOR HILLARY CLINTON right? He didn't just vote for her. he didn't just donate to her. He CAMPAIGNED on her behalf! People use Trump pushing the anti-Obama "birther" conspiracy theory as proof that Trump is racist but forget to remember that he did that on behalf of Hillary Clinton and she never (to my knowledge) condemned him over it. Trump is an empty suit. He has NO PRINCIPLES! All Kanye West had to do to get criminal justice reform (I still think that was good) was to take his wife Kim Kardasian to the White House and let Trump drool over her. I think Trump hard right, racist "anti DEI" push is because a lot of white Republicans wanted that and, failing to get enough black voters in 2020 to win, he decided to shore up his base as much as possible. He doesn't agree with you. He doesn't LIKE you. You've been had.
