Trump floats eliminating U.S. income tax and replacing it with tariffs on imports

O

I wanted to see greater effort in it cuts

I have a feeling the "spending cut" thing was just a temporary blip on the radar that's fading rapidly. I don't think trump was ever that excited about it, it was more of an elon musk thing in my opinion.

It cracks me up how both these brainwashed sides are more interested in abusing people they decided are "turncoats", and paradoxically, defending those who they think are turncoats who left the "other side", than in going after the real bad guys. So here's a brainwashed Republican trying to live down the fact that he used to insist RFKJr is a CIA asset, and meanwhile...

It's truly the Age of Hypocrisy.

The left has lots of reasons to hate musk. He's rich. He used to be a democrat. He bought twitter and exposed government censorship. Remember that up until then everyone thought the big tech companies were censoring on their own.

“…are going to be…”

“Then…” “…will be replaced…”

Tell us more of what your crystal ball reveals, Nostradumbass.

Oh, and seeing you applaud a policy that, in your own words, would “tax the rich” and then proceed to imply that somebody ELSE is a “commie”? Priceless. No doubt the irony went right by you.
If I had to choose between being run through a wood chipper and being given an opioid overdose I'd take the opioid overdose. Same with preferring tariffs over an income case. I'm glad at least that this idea is out there. That said I remember when Andrew Yang floated "scaling back" the income tax (not getting rid of it), giving everybody UBI and putting a VAT on everything. That idea I can't stomach.

How do you suppose the founding fathers set out to establish a republic, yet we inherited a government of the puppets, by the puppets, for the puppetmasters?

Could it be that a significant portion of the population doesn't understand the issues but does understand puppet shows? Could it be that when frightened, few people can think straight, and most just cling to whatever is charismatic enough to give them a scrap of confidence when he talks tough?

The devil himself also loves a frightened audience.
LOL

Trump publicly using people to do good things is not a puppet government.

You're just mad Trump is doing good things.

We are talking about the president who hired this guy and gave him this job, right?

It would seem to go without saying, except maybe around here, that you don’t spend hundreds of millions of dollars to upgrade the infrastructure of an agency which you intend to eliminate. That would be the height of inefficiency and waste. Yet here we are. Hmmm…..

The IRS is the last thing I want acting efficiently

You didn’t take that to mean that *I* wanted the IRS to be efficient, did you? I was merely pointing out that IF one intended to eliminate a particular agency, THEN one wouldn’t be hiring experts to facilitate and accelerate the process of upgrading their infrastructure and increase their efficiency. Yet Trump has done just that. Why waste the money upgrading an agency you claim you want to eliminate? Seems like maybe, just maybe, something’s a little bit fishy about that, no?

We are in agreement sir

You do if you are going to change it to the ERS to collect tariffs.

You do if you are going to change it to the ERS to collect tariffs.

And has anyone, anywhere in the world, said anything about him doing that, or is "ERS" something you just made up and is all of this just another case of you getting stoned and reporting your pipe dreams as established fact?

You do if you are going to change it to the ERS to collect tariffs.

We already have an agency that collects tariffs and has done so since the nation was founded. I’m pretty sure it’s called U. S. Customs and Border Protection. We don’t need a redundant agency to perform the same duties.

That was definitely one of the lamest excuses you’ve posted yet for your big, cuddly Trumpy Bear.

If you keep being this obvious, more people may catch on to you around here.

Trump has said so on multiple occasions, and it's been posted here.

You are completely out of touch with reality.

ICE needs more agents for enforcing immigration, so you transfer their customs duties to the former IRS and assign all those agents to immigration, that way you don't need more appropriations to increase immigration enforcement.

Link to anything about anyone but you using the acronym "ERS".
The Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of Commerce and the Secretary of Homeland Security, shall investigate the feasibility of establishing and recommend the best methods for designing, building, and implementing an External Revenue Service (ERS) to collect tariffs, duties, and other foreign trade-related revenues.
