President Trump on Sunday ripped Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) for saying that the president had reached the "threshold for impeachment," accusing the conservative lawmaker of leveling the charge "for the sake of getting his name out there through controversy."

"Never a fan of @justinamash, a total lightweight who opposes me and some of our great Republican ideas and policies just for the sake of getting his name out there through controversy," Trump said on Twitter.

Trump added that Amash would see that he was misguided if he "actually read the biased" report put together by special counsel Robert Mueller.

"He would see that it was nevertheless strong on NO COLLUSION and, ultimately, NO OBSTRUCTION," Trump said. "Anyway, how do you Obstruct when there is no crime and, in fact, the crimes were committed by the other side? Justin is a loser who sadly plays right into our opponents hands!".

Amash, a member of the House Freedom Caucus, on Saturday became the first GOP lawmaker to say that the president's conduct was "impeachable."

But this aggressive and quick attack back is smart startegy for MAGA, should not have been left un-answered. If other GOP Congress members took this as a sign and started publicly coming out also against GOP-Neocon/Adelson wing , such a trend close to 2020 would be difficult to contain especially if MAGA is perceived as vulnerable on suger high economy, deficit/debt baloons, DACA, 2nd amendment flip flops etc. Many conservatives outside Congress had already started criticizing top leadership of Adelson wing using such extreme terms as "fraud" , "scam" etc, this latest Congress member step is more concerning especially if this turned nto first drop of a dangerous trend that GOP 2020 hopeful libertarians like Weld had been trying to jump start. No matter how we slice it, this is not a good news for GOP-MAGA and by extensions for globalist neocons behind recent Iran/Venez/Iraq interrventions projects.

On second thought:

At first, MAGA's aggressive attack on Amash today looked like the right move to stop any more Congressional defections, but on second thought this may turn out to be a mistake if alienating enough libertarians and Amash costs MAGA Michigan and 2020. MAGA donor class might be looking at future prospects also. Respected neoconservative casino owner and Israel-First activist Sheldon Adelson has invested huge sums of money in MAGA election, careless kneejerk strategy of alienating libertarians could backfire and sink that massive investment in 2020.
When representative of Gun Owners of America had called MAGA a 'fraud' recently, MAGA had refrained from attacking back as that would have risked alienating even broader pro 2nd amendment community. Perhaps somewhat similar cautious approach should be used in dealing with criticism from anti-interventionist, pro-liberty, small government libertarians. In contrast, MAGA attack on Coulter after she invoked 'scam presidency' term did not carry similar scal risks and did not really accelerate bleeding of hard Right conservatives support after that attackwards.

2 Kings
Chapter 14

8 Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.
9 And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.
10 Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory of this, and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
11 But Amaziah would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah.
12 And Judah was put to the worse before Israel; and they fled every man to their tents.
13 And Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Bethshemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
14 And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.
