If scripture is good enough for Pulp Fiction, then it should be good enough for your sight. ;) I think it's pretty cool that random Biblical passages can be discretely found on your ACOG! And I'm not even Christian! Secondly, these boobs at NBC are derisively calling it the Jesus rifle when it is just a detachable optic. Trijicon has been manufacturing their optic sights with discrete biblical passages for a couple decades.

I've been thinking that my next optic will be an ACOG. Surprisingly, this is the first I've heard of this.

What a mind job.

So I'm carrying a gun in a foreign land on behalf of an empire, and I just may possibly reign death upon my unwilling hosts.

And of course the hosts beef is with... the engravings on my guns optics.

Makes perfect sense. Those engravings could prove dangerous.

Get rid of those engravings and let the healing begin.

:toady:

The reason the military uses these sights is because their products are some of the best 'proven' optics on the planet! That is why I bought one too.

An ACOG is very hard to beat if you want low-magnification scope for your rifle. If you want a red dot sight, go with an Aimpoint T-1 or Comp M4.

When I get done with these, they are getting Trijicons.

ACOG is pretty hard core. I love mine. I had to wait 6 months for it - and it does have the "Jesus Numbers".
The only complaint I have is the price, but its a durable good.

This doesn't say anything about the optic, but credible sources report the SCAR 17s eating ACOG's. Probably the only rifle that does under a .338 (thereabouts)

makes sense, killing and religions go hand in hand.

I dont care what the company does with its retail sales but I really don't like putting biblical stuff on equipment that ends up in foreign lands, used to kill people of predominantly a different religion. Hard to argue that a holy war is not underway with this sort of stuff going on.

Guess they will start inscribing bullets with the ten commandments......oh wait thou shall not kill....they will skip that one it is too inconvenient.

As if our military didn't have larger and more pressing matters on their plate.

Some people have gone right over the edge. Nuts-0.

You cannot be serious. What a private manufacturer puts on its products in this vein is immaterial. We're in a war. We are killing people in large numbers. I doubt it makes much difference to them whether reference to a biblical passage is present as the bullets are tearing through their flesh.

If the military doesn't want the references, they can specify to stop putting them there. They have done so and Trijicon has complied. What the hell else do people want?

I would add that this is very bad press for the USA vis-a-vis the muslim fundamentalist loonies. Muslims understand and respect only ONE thing: strength. This "controversy" is just another data point underscoring in their minds how weak and indecisive we are. This is the sort of thing that fuels their resolve and urges them ever forward and with growing boldness. So I would say "fuck you" to the press and every other scum bag who fans these sorts of flames because it is endangering us all. The only way to deal with these people, other than never having messed with them in the first place, is to smack them into the dirt a fathom's worth and be done with it. They have to know we are not to be trifled with in any way, because so long as they perceive us as weak they will remain a clear and present threat.

Why yes, I am serious. The inscriptions may be a small factor but they are a factor in generating blowback. Ignoring the general anti-muslim tone of your post, you're saying that publicizing it is the fanning of flames, but not the actual existence itself? Odd argument.
