Top of Drudge: Trump "Hitler did a lot of good things"

I went to the thread and read it. Bloviate much? mea culpa, Hitler proposed an idea.

https://www.interestingfacts.org/fact/hitler-porsche-and-beetle

Obviously you think someone bloviated in that thread, or you'd have actually read it far enough to discover the link to this:

zundapp.gif

That just happens to be Dr. Porsche's prototype, built by and for Zundapp, of the Beetle. It had the platform frame, the transverse torsion bars, the transaxle with the clutch on the back. The photo was taken in 1931. Where was old Adolph in 1931? Look that up. The Beetle was a halfway completed project two years before the bastard came to power.

You have a resource handy. Ask your husband to mansplain DKW and Zundapp. Stop guessing.

What's so damned hard about conceiving of a cheap car that seats five? Especially a quarter century after the introduction of the Model T? What was Hitler's big contribution? Asking if it could be made to go 100 km/h?

This One Good Thing Hitler Did was something private enterprise had already created. All Hitler did was finance its completion, delay its completion, and start a war that prevented its manufacture and sale. And tell Porsche to steal Airflow- and Tatra-style integrated headlights. Hitler stole the idea, and stole the credit. That is socialism in a nutshell. And people are still insisting we let him get away with it, even though no civilian owned one of the damned things during Hitler's lifetime.

Hell, even the styling was stolen, from the Chrysler Corporation, by VW, and also by Volvo, Peugeot and Toyota. Even the idea to crib that styling was a stolen idea.

Germans during the Nazi era never got to buy VWs. And they didn't need them. They had DKWs. The VW was a pacifier for the population. It was basically another campaign promise that didn't get kept.

The part that really weirds me out about all this is the sheer number of people who have no reason to defend Hitler at all, but still defend this lie invented to glorify the psycho. Why? Because you can't admit to yourself that you believe a lie? It's an old wives' tale, and the old wife who invented it was Josef Goebbels.

The prewar DKW:

Not quite as fast as the VW, got better mileage--despite being a two stroke.

The only reasons the postwar version...

...got outsold by the VW were, the new German government owned the factory and the rights at the time, and promoted it (to the point of closing down competitor Borgward, now there's a conspiracy one can sink some teeth into), and many hippies couldn't properly mix oil and gas.

Borgward's Goliath 1100

The ironic part is, today VW builds only water-cooled, front wheel drive vehicles. It became DKW.

And just a couple weeks ago the loony left was creaming over General Milley

""I've read Mao Tse Tung. I've read Karl Marx. I've read Lenin. That doesn't make me a communist," Milley continued."

Sometimes the news media gets it right and not sure why this is suddenly far fetched or some conspiracy, old news really. The man studied him and used the knowledge to play the masses to win.

Coming directly from his ex-wife.

Trump studied something? That’s the far fetched part.

The part that is believable is an ex-wife saying that her ex-husband had skimmed a Hitler book to smear him, and it being true, and also that Trump didn't correctly remember the name of which book he was reading.

Populations elevate their leaders.

Populations also topple them.

Blaming one man, no matter who it is, for prosperity or tragedy is a fools game.

Unfortunately, the world as a whole, is quite foolish.

Concern over the rise of the far right in the US grew during Trump’s time in power and continues, as he maintains a grip on a Republican party determined to obstruct investigations of the deadly 6 January assault on the US Capitol by supporters seeking to overturn his election defeat.

Tend to agree with AF's comment on this.

The guy who fashioned himself after Abraham Linclon and championed social justice, diversity had a very different persona than what fakenews tried to push and failed. He had overwhelming pro-diversity track record going back decades that negates fakenews claims trying to paint him as "Hitler lover".:

"He's a Hitler lover. I guess he's an anti-Semite. He doesn't like the blacks. He doesn't like the gays. It's just incredible that anybody could embrace this guy," Trump said.

Trump administration threatened Sweden to secure release of Somali-American rapper A$AP Rocky

Aug. 3, 2019
The U.S. government warned Sweden of "negative consequences" as it advocated for rapper ASAP Rocky during his trial for assault charges in Stockholm this week, according to a pair of letters released by the Swedish Prosecution Authority.
According to the letters, obtained by NBC News partner Aftonbladet, the U.S. special presidential envoy for hostage affairs wrote to Swedish prosecutors urging them to release Rocky.
"The government of the United States of America wants to resolve this case as soon as possible to avoid potentially negative consequences to the U.S.-Swedish bilateral relationship," Amb. Robert O'Brien wrote in the letter, dated Wednesday.
In response Sweden's prosecutor-general, Petra Lundh, defended the independence of Swedish courts and said he therefore had to deny O'Brien's requests.
"No other prosecutor, not even I, may interfere with a specific case or try to affect the prosecutor responsible," Lundh wrote in a letter dated Thursday.
The letters marked the latest intervention by U.S. officials in a case that has commanded the attention of figures ranging from the president to Justin Bieber.

Trump pardons Jack Johnson erasing conviction for violating Anti White Slave Act

Jack Johnson Was Pardoned, But Taboo Sex Is Still Being Criminalized
By Jenavieve Hatch
President Donald Trump posthumously pardoned Jack Johnson on Thursday, erasing the black boxer’s century-old conviction for violating the Mann Act — a 1910 law that prohibited transporting “any woman or girl” across state lines “for the purpose of prostitution or debauchery, or for any other immoral purpose” — by driving his white girlfriend from Pittsburgh to Chicago.
All this has happened before
The Mann Act, also known as the White-Slave Traffic Act, was enacted in response to public hysteria about sensational yet unconfirmed reports of white women being kidnapped and trafficked by foreign men.

White House threatened FDA chief for quick approval of covid vaccine developed by Turkish immigrant muslim couple

Trump White House orders FDA chief to authorize Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine Friday or submit his resignation
White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on Friday told Stephen Hahn, the commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, to submit his resignation if the agency does not clear the nation’s first coronavirus vaccine by day’s end, according to people familiar with the situation who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss what happened.
The threat came on the same day that President Trump tweeted that the FDA is “a big, old, slow turtle” in its handling of vaccines, while exhorting Commissioner Stephen Hahn to “get the dam vaccines out NOW.” He added: “Stop playing games and start saving lives!!!”

The world and its people might just be saved by a couple of immigrant Turks. I’m aware the BioNTech vaccine may seem old news to you, but my family and I have spent the past week hanging out our Turkish flags and I’ve only now sat down to write. I am the child of two scientists, one of whom is a Turkish immigrant, and this double connection has made me unbelievably proud of Ozlem Tureci and Ugur Sahin.

The Husband-and-Wife Team Behind the Leading Vaccine to Solve Covid-19
The German company BioNTech, founded by two scientists, has teamed up with Pfizer on a vaccine that was found to be more than 90 percent effective.
In 2019, Dr. Sahin was awarded the Mustafa Prize, a biennial Iranian prize for Muslims in science and technology.

LOL - Nice try.

I was referring to this specific comment:

There was no "deadly assault" on the US Capitol.

The only deadly violence that day was carried out by the government against an unarmed white woman.

But I'll cede your point, that Trump, on this subject, is very much pro diversity and equality.

The Bauhaus

Didn't Hitler design or have the idea for the Volkswagen Beetle?

Didn't Obama make GM vehicles government owned in the 2009 bailout?

The VW came out of the Bauhaus movement. The Bauhaus School was a group of German artists and designers who decided that “form should follow function” and “less is more”.

(Bauhaus) a school of design established by Walter Gropius in Weimar in 1919, best known for its designs of objects based on functionalism and simplicity.

...The school became famous for its approach to design, which attempted to unify the principles of mass production with individual artistic vision and strove to combine aesthetics with everyday function. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bauhaus

It’s a concept art students are still taught. The Bauhaus School invented a ton of utilitarian objects that are still in use today, but which are taken for granted. You’d be surprised if you learned how many of your common household possessions have parts that are actually based on bauhaus designs. A lot of of it still has a “modern” look. (also art deco-y.)

Once Hitler came to power, the government took everything over, so all the Bauhaus stuff became Hitler's stuff, and they then had to please the government (This is probably how Nazis came to have those handsome uniforms.) Of course, this ruined the trajectory of the movement for the artists and designers.

The VW was supposed to be an inexpensive, maintainable vehicle with easily replaceable parts that you could take care of yourself - great for the consumer, but less great for a mass producer who prefers the increased sales afforded by planned obsolescence.

As far as “Hitler did some good things” goes - well, yeah - of course he did, or he would never have gotten elected by his people. I’ve always heard this. In the beginning, he did things that seemed to make life better for many people. Nothing nefarious about admitting it. Not really a revelation.

Drudge has been co-opted and taken over. It is now poison information in place of truth.

Not bad.

Ironically, it is the left that always pushes the idea that it is “artists” that need to be promoted and that will save mankind. Maybe that goes without saying, as it is artists that usually create much of the propaganda, especially via the “arts”. How much money did theaters and Hollywood get from the mega stimulus-relief-infrastructure bills?

Maybe Hitler is a good example of what putting artists in charge gets you. Was Stalin an actor? Mao a flute player? Lenin a guitar player?

Stalin:

Had a deep appreciation for the arts and a prolific reader and large album collection

Mao: Poetry & Calligraphy

Lenin: Unsure about his art appreciation or talents.

Interesting to note. All of them despised Avant Garde, Cubism, and futuristic styles. I suspect these promote freer thinking and creativity.

Interesting. Found this about Lenin:

At the onset of the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 history took an unexpected turn and the art of the Russian avant-garde suddenly was in a position of power. Russian avant-garde art became the new image and voice of Vladimir Lenin (1870-1924) government. Artists like Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944), El Lissitzky (1890-1941), Kazimir Malevich (1879-1935) and Vladimir Tatlin (1885-1953) became part of Lenin’s hive as cultural bureaucrats and teachers.

Todays dem party is much more in line with the communists and national socialists which pretty much all had one thing in common . They wanted everything everyone had to be used by them for the means they wished . Trump - Pence on the other hand wanted you to keep your shit and use it productively so no real comparison. People like schumer and harris though are comparative I think. None of it matters though because in the end you still live in a welfare state country on a death spiral of debt , spending , unbacked currency , inflation and levels of employment much too low to sustain with a GDP that cant keep up . The only real question that I dont believe anyone knows is how long can it be kept afloat as is currently before a huge dropoff ? They have tripled the national debt in 12 1/2 years with limited growth and 6 in ten employed with only two of those paying in more than they receive so it is quite remarkable possibly that things are no worse yet than they are.
