What's the big deal about Tom Davis? How does he compare to Lee Bright? How liberty-friendly is either? Just because they both endorsed Ron Paul, what was their political reason for doing so?

Both are 100% Ron Paul candidates. The difference is Davis more well known.

They have continued to advocate liberty through social media since endorsing Paul, and if you look into their records in previous years they consistently got perfect scores from the Club For Growth.

Both Bright and Davis received 90+ from SC Club for Growth and both are good liberty fighters.

Here are some good links to read why they are so great:

Those links made Lee Bright look better than Davis, just in terms of government spending. I don't suppose the 15 percent difference, that one link cited, is significant, however. I'm concerned about their views on personal liberty and foreign policy. What do we know?

Davis is a great guy. Use the search function and find other threads about him here, back before people had thought he had decided not to run.

Bright is a good guy too, and I'd support him if Davis doesn't run. The worst would be if they both ran, but Tom Davis is my favorite, possibly because I know more of his positions.

I'm almost positive Davis has said he will NOT run. He says there is too much work to be done in the SC senate..

There's also a thread just a few down from here citing sources that he's reconsidering that post-#StandWithRand. Only one of him and Bright needs to run, though. We don't need to split the vote.

Bright and Davis are allies in the SC Senate. I would imagine they are friends as well. If people on a internet forum that live hundreds of miles away from SC, see that the both of them running would be a bad situation that would split votes, they can see it as well. So, I am almost 99% certain that you won't see both of them running for the same office. Neither of the two are up for reelection for their SC Senate seat, so they can run for US Senate without fear of losing their current seat. Right now, both are likely assessing the race, determining how much money it will take to defeat Graham, and if it is possible for them to raise that amount of money. If the numbers work out, then one of the two will take a shot at Graham.

The numbers absolutely work out. The money is not going to be a problem. If Davis is worried about being able to raise enough money and run a competitive campaign then he has nothing to fear. All of talk radio are gunning for Graham. Levin will allow him to go on his show multiple times. So will Beck and the others. We will raise him money and hold moneybombs. Money is not a problem.

I really dont see how he can think there's work to be done in SC and want to remain there when he has a steller chance to be a UNITED STATES SENATOR and get to work in Washington DC. Sorry but that's much better than Columbia and would be the start of a political career on the national stage. I was very disappointed in him ruling it out a few months ago.

These opportunities don't come along every day and this one might have passed him by since Bright seems to have his heart set on running.

Davis failed to seize the opportunity a few months back when we all calling for him to run. Now talk radio are gunning for Graham so beating him and raising money and your profile is going to be even easier.

Davis was repping Rothbard and the Mises Academy on his facebook either in 2011 or 2012.

A couple months ago I saw Davis use the word "anarchocapitalist" in a FB post.

In retrospect, the only meaningful thing that happened last week was that Rand Paul started his presidential campaign. There was no great victory against the federal government. So yeah, I would rethink what Davis wrote, too.

Here's another truth: Bright is better than Graham. Davis is better than Graham. My pet fish is better than Graham. PERIOD.

Truth and I think that means we might be better off supporting a more well known candidate than Bright OR Davis.

What about Jenny Sanford?

I know Mark is trying to win the seat in SC-1, but I wonder if he's considered dropping out of that race, backing Grooms like Mulvaney and Duncan have, and primarying Graham himself.
