Tom Davis

I know Mark is trying to win the seat in SC-1, but I wonder if he's considered dropping out of that race, backing Grooms like Mulvaney and Duncan have, and primarying Graham himself.

Grooms is overrated. I checked out his historical Club For Growth scores and he just isn't that good.

If Sanford was to back somebody, Sheriff Ray Nash would be the choice. But Sanford is staying in.

I think Sanford is libertarian enough for Nash to have not ran and sought something else. I mean, the RLC is trying to get a moneybomb for Nash going on today but imo that is just wasted libertarian money/votes in a primary with another essential ally. This has to stop.

From what I've read in bits and pieces in a few places, Bright is more of a social conservative than Davis. I would prefer Davis run. Social conservatives have a tendency to have Akin moments. We really don't want abortion and gay marriage to hog the limelight vs. debt and spending. It's a losing proposition even now, and will be more so in 2014, as the country becomes even more socially tolerant/liberal by the day.

Any Christian is a extremist to our resident objectivist-zionist-atheist.

I think Gwax is also an Atheist.

and just for the record, I consider Ron Paul to be the perfect model for a Christian politician. Also Barry Goldwater.

Social conservatives need to wise up. I respect them and they're huge part of the GOP but they need to just stop talking about social issues full stop and "hide" it better like the lefties hide their hatred for free markets and desire for socialism

Rand is very socially conservative but he doesn't talk about it much and that's the way to go about it.

You will never hear a progressive in a swing district talk about bringing in socialism and abolishing free markets even if they're sympathetic to it because they know how extreme it sounds.

I think it's best Sanford takes the House seat. Grooms is a state senator so should be in communication with Davis and Bright. Maybe Grooms can run for Senate, since he's obviously seeking higher office.

Also, how is Bright a Christian extremist? He's definitely socially conservative, but that's what wins in South Carolina. Look at DeMint and Tim Scott.

I'm not all that familiar with Lee Bright but heard him being interviewed by larua Ingrahm and didn't think he sounded like all that well spoken of a candidate - I think Tom Davis is a better choice.

I think most of us missed that interview.
