The Ron Paul campaign announced it will channel its financial resources and staff to delegate and convention operations instead of upcoming primary states. This includes South Dakota, which votes June 5th.

It's up to the grassroots to carry Dr. Paul’s message and deliver a strong showing on June 5th.

South Dakota sends 28 delegates to the National Convention. To secure delegates, we must get at least 20% in the primary. Ron Paul has polled in 1st place in South Dakota with 22% in a scientific poll conducted by Nielson Brothers Polling and has performed well in neighboring states -- including 27% in Minnesota and 28% in North Dakota!

We have a professional, organized operation independent of the official campaign with a team of passionate and experienced campaign volunteers working for free. We have a database of targeted voters as well as radio ads, fliers and direct-mail ready to go. This can all be done cheaper than the official campaign.

We've raised $6,500 in just six days. However, we must raise at LEAST $25,000 this weekend to put our plan in place.

Because Governor Romney has been anointed by the Establishment as the presumptive nominee, a concerted, organized effort will not be expected in South Dakota. We will draw a clear distinction between Dr. Ron Paul and Governor Romney and make a successful pitch to primary voters that there is one clear, true conservative candidate -- and only one pro-liberty choice.

But we NEED your help!

On Saturday, May 26th at 12midnight, we have a MONEYBOMB to cover operational costs. Please donate through our website: www.southdakotaforliberty.com (Yes, we will have a ticker) As a separate PAC, we can take donations from supporters who have maxed out to the official campaign.

We are near the end of the primary season and no one knows what will transpire at the National Convention. Nevertheless, we should feel victorious when we think of how far we've come. We are determining the outcome of congressional primaries. We are attaining state party chairmanships.

There are no limits to what we can accomplish.

As Dr. Paul often points out, liberty releases creative energies. In 2008, our grassroots campaign for greater liberty began spontaneously. I am calling on ALL of you to stand with us -- just as this began -- as a grassroots phenomenon!

It ain’t over till it’s over -- let’s give this our best shot!

"Fear is the passion of slaves." - Patrick Henry

It would be nice if the campaign could say something about this, but they might not be able to.

I sent Josh a pm asking if he would send an email, but I don't know if he will see it in time. They have their primary Tues and are kinda busy, in Texas.

Sure we can win SD,

If no Santa surge with a convention robbed by Mitt.. -ND-

Or false robocalls sent to Paul supporters to give false polliing locations ala Mitt. -WA-

The delegates are already picked see:

This is not a Beauty Contest! This is real!

In South Dakota the Delegates are already chosen. Ron Paul has a slate of delegates on the ballot. Romney has a slate of delegates. So does Santorum, Gingrich, and Uncommitted.

The Primary directly determines how many of each slate goes. If We get 25% of the vote, and Romney gets say 60% and 15% vote is left of slates that didn't hit the 20% threshold for the other 3 slates. Then 25 of the 85% of the votes that count is about 30% of the delegates for Ron Paul.

So they'll take the top 30% of Ron Paul's slate, and the top 70% of Mitt Romney's slate.

There's no binding necessary. The Romney Slate was chosen by Romney people. Paul's slate was chosen by Paul people. Delegate selection is over.

The primary directly determines out many of who's slate goes.

BTW, this is a likely scenario here if we don't raise the money we need to raise in the next few days. If we can raise the money we need, we can make sure our people show up in disproportionate numbers, and very possibly take 40% of the vote. And Especially if we can get Romney's pro-abortion stance on the airwaves, we can suppress his vote and at least prevent the Gingrich and Santorum people from voting for him.

This is winnable. But the Primary is "NOT A BEAUTY CONTEST." The people on Romney's slate a die-hard rapid establishment RINO types. We don't want them at the national convention.

Update 10:01 PST: 15,747.03 -- it's something, but not much. Hope we are doing everything we can to promote this. It would be great if we could get just a couple of big donors.

Is it possible to promote this to known Ron Paul celebrity supporters on twitter? Max donation is $5K and I think since it's a superpac the donations are anonymous, is that correct? Just think how much good that $ would do in SD.

Email and tweet Jesse Benton. I'm sure he can afford to throw done $5K. And I'm being serious. Every major figure in the campaign should be able to personally donate.

I don't think the campaign is legally allowed to do that, but not sure. I was thinking more like, Barry Manilow or something!
